There’s so much research going into artificial intelligence. But the real challenge is to reproduce human stupidity via technology. It’s really difficult to get a computer to act as dumb as humans can, but NASA is working on it. No, not that NASA, it's the National Artificial Stupidity Association. The challenge is to not only duplicate the human inability to logically solve problems, but also to generate inane excuses, present disorganized guesses, and argue to defend its wrong answers. Eight-year-old Zach Bonner is the founder of the Little Red Wagon Foundation, a non-profit organization to help children in distressed situations. Zach began his charity work in response to Hurricane Charlie in 2004, when he was six years old! Evil Mad Scientist says we can do a easier version of the “floating on nothing†trick featured in the hexaflourid post.
You can actually do a version of this trick at home, using stuff that you either already have or can get a the grocery store: You can blow bubbles and float them-- apparently in mid air-- atop a layer of carbon dioxide; a not-very-exotic heavy gas. You'll need a big pot, pan or storage bin (made of plastic or metal), some dry ice, and bubbles.
Complete instruction are posted, plus a video of the trick in action. Now, if we could get hold of some Zubbles, this would be just too cool! http://www.evilmadscientist.com/article.php/bubbles
