I haven't read the article yet, but I have opinions on this already. The idea behind the push for more homework was opriginally to freeup classtime for more instruction. That's a great idea, BUT it didn't happen. The extra classtime it created tends to go to drilling for mandatory achievement tests, discipline management, and experimental programs.
My hair hasn't been dark too many times in my life -and it wasn't as dark as the picture would indicate, either. That was sometime in the mid-80s, I think.
I know a lot of "contractors" who go out of business after their first project. The bad part is that those "first projects" still cost someone their life savings.
