Well, I had wondered about that, because I was there in 2006, but I mistrusted my memory. Thanks, SL, I will edit the post.

I think the median household income in the US is about 44K, which means half make less... and those kids grow up anyway. We just don't figure into those statistics.

Thanks, Trekkie! I bet that most of us forget to count the cartoon, even though we are aware of it.

You, too? I thought that was a glitch!

I can tell you, there's no citation. It's just a story that many people say is sorta close to something that happened at a company they worked for. I think it's a combination of previous stories that are kinda melded together. Things like this happen, just not in such a neat little package.
The first link is a fairly new post, though.

My kids have no idea how to dial a rotary phone. We were at a vendors mall and she asked me to explain the dial. Then she wanted to buy the "antique" phone. I said, "That? That's not even old. It's probably from the eighties."
Her look made me realize that the eighties may as well be prehistoric times to her.

I have a feeling that the "easy to hack" part was deliberate, too. Why design all those levels if no one will see them? This way, they get even more publicity.

That had to hurt. At least twice.

Remember five years ago when MySpace was the hottest thing going? Anyone considering a tattoo should think about how obsolete anything can be in a few years -and the tat stays.
One day, her kids will ask her to explain Facebook and why she thought it was worth tattooing.

He stills hears about that from listeners years later.
