Yup, they froze. It hasn't been this cold here in 20 years, and I missed the forecast and did not leave the water running overnight as I should have. That's the only way to prevent pipes from bursting, and we'll find out how bad it is when they finally thaw.
Harlan's not too far from here -I was born in that county. The temperature may have been in the single digits when they did this, but it's much colder now. It was 17 below zero when I got up this morning. Looks like we won't have water again today.
One of the advantages of living in a small town is that delivery guys will just leave a package by your door. Once I got home from work to find a large square box on my front porch that said "Apple" on the side. It was not orchard produce. You can't do that in a city.
