Wasn't there a commercial airing in the United States (I do not remember which fast food chain) that was basically the same thing in a couple's bedroom?
Not to miss the point, but if the White Cliffs of Dover were in America, there would be so many barriers to prevent you from falling over, you wouldn't get within twenty feet of the cliff.

Just because something was popular in England and appeared in an English cookbook doesn't make it English. That's like saying the Beatles were American because we made them even more popular than they already were and they appeared on Ed Sullivan, an American TV show.
Gone with the Wind was on the list. That was pretty hard, actually. *spoiler* No Harry Potter, no Indiana Jones....didn't Harrison Ford have like 6 of the top ten movies at one time?
I wondered about the purpose of creating a robot snake until they showed it under the desk with the lights and crawling up the side of the building. Now I can think of all kinds of spying/freaking out the bad guy applications!
