I found a children's book series that I read decades ago that I'd been searching for through Amazon's "if you liked that, you might like this." I've tried tracking down another book I read about a U.S. president with the last name of Moody who time traveled back to WWII, if I remember correctly.

Presumably it is even worse. Bald eagles usually don't swim like ducks on the water, they only prey on the water. That is, mr. octopus is probalby thinking:; "damn, why was this fricking featherball trying to kill me? I'll fight for my life, and maybe i can drown this wet air creature to save myself. Yeah! soon he will be dommed and maybe i can eat this perfidious sucker myself!!" (followed by your boat jerks thought) .....Even though i really appreciate the majestic soaring eagle, i would have preferred to give evolution a chance and let the cephalopod feast on the leucocephalus...

Who remembers the 3-sided album from Monty Python: Matching Tie and Handkerchief? It just had two interlaced grooves on one side, so depending on where along the edge you placed the needle you would get one groove or the other. Lots of people got freaked out when they played it and something different came out for the first time.

This is incorrect. It’s well buried in the original article, but at the end they mention that Mr Long has had a vasectomy - so he *has* no sperm in his semen. The only DNA there must come from the (trace) immune cells that are always present, and which unsurprisingly come from the bone marrow donor.
Similarly, finding donor DNA in Mr Long’s other tissues doesn’t mean he’s a chimera. All organs have a blood supply, so the fact that there’s donor-derived blood cells present is to be expected.

Semen, not sperm, I believe.
So the man is a chimera (he has his own DNA and the donor's DNA in his body). His sperm is still his own DNA, but his semen contains the donor's DNA.
His semen should therefore contain BOTH his DNA and the donor's DNA ... but to make matters a bit more complicated, he's undergone vasectomy so he no longer produces sperm.
Thus his semen only contains only his donor's DNA.
Yeah, complicated!

http://vaviper.blogspot.com/2015/02/this-may-be-best-opening-paragraph-ever.html
"One warm spring night in 2011, a young man named Travis Hughes stood on the back deck of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house at Marshall University, in West Virginia, and was struck by what seemed to him—under the influence of powerful inebriants, not least among them the clear ether of youth itself—to be an excellent idea: he would shove a bottle rocket up his ass and blast it into the sweet night air."
And the rest of the paragraph:
"And perhaps it was an excellent idea. What was not an excellent idea, however, was to misjudge the relative tightness of a 20-year-old sphincter and the propulsive reliability of a 20-cent bottle rocket. What followed ignition was not the bright report of a successful blastoff, but the muffled thud of fire in the hole."

You loose! The language is more or less a living thing subjected to constant changes wherein the se changes may also be seen as an evolution of a language. Without doubt, there is always a correct way but as soon as all people constantly ignore all the rules, the rule changes or do no longer apply. In case you don't adapt the rules to the reality you end in a "dead language" such as latin.
