No Lemonade Stands Allowed

Kids selling lemonade on a street corner is a classic American icon, but according to Georgia State Police, it's actually against the law. Cops recently busted two tweens for selling without a business permit and a food vendor's license. According to the police chief, the city won't be backing down soon:
"We were not aware of how the lemonade was made, who made the lemonade, of what the lemonade was made with, so we acted accordingly by city ordinance."

Who knew lemonade could be so dangerous to the public health?

Tiny Paper Sculptures

Model maker Akinobu Izumi's 'A Tiny World In A Bottle' series is just amazing. He has everything from jellyfish to skeletons to ships. They're sometimes arranged on dirt and occasionally fixed in liquid parafin to create a floating effect. If you like them, be sure to check out his Etsy store where you can buy your own.

Ladies, Don't Be Just Another Slave Girl

(Video Link)

Just in time for Comic Con, this Break.com PSA reminds ladies that there are more sexy female cosplay costumes besides the classic princess Leia salve outfit. We'll soon see if this has any impact on the female cosplayers visiting the convention this year, but honestly, there is always a ton of variety at the convention.

Marine Asks Betty White To Ball

(Video Link)

By now, you likely already heard about the marines who asked Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake to the Marine Corps Ball and got positive responses from the actors. While those stories are cute and surprising, I prefer the newest addition to the celebrity invitation parade, the guy who asks Betty White to the ball. Betty, if you're reading this, please say "yes."

20 Drinks Inspired By Harry Potter

BuzzFeed has a great list of alcoholic drinks based on the Harry Potter series. Personally, I'm intrigued by the Gryffindor:
Ingredients:
1 part Liqueur, raspberry (Chambord)
1 part cranberry juice
1 part orange juice
1 Maraschino cherry
1 twist (of peel) orangeĀ Instructions:
'Mix juices and Chambord with ice, strain. Garnish with an orange twist wrapped around a cherry with a sword-pick through it. Serve in a hurricane glass.'

Would you try any of these magically tasty treats?

10 Cool Tiny Artworks

Over on Mental Floss, Miss C has a great round up of tiny artworks by extremely talented artists. My personal favorite is the tiny working gun seen here, created by Michel Lefaivre. I can't help but wonder how much damage this little thing could actually do.

Toad Babies Delivered From The Back

(Video Link)

The video isn't nearly as raunchy as my title might have you believe, but it can be even more disturbing. I'll be honest, this video gives me chills every time I watch it. Even so, it's fascinating to watch the surinam toad give birth, being as how the male embeds the eggs on the female's back.

Snails Can Survive Being Eaten

A new study has found that around 15% of all snails eaten by hungry birds survive the ordeal and live to be eaten another day. In fact, one of the snails in the study immediately gave birth right after she crawled out of the bird's waste.

The Amazing Slide House

When I was a youngster, I thought firefighters were the coolest people alive...not because they were heroes, but because they got to slide down a pole to go to work. These days, while I respect the heck out of firefighters (anyone who lives in Southern California knows just how important they are), I have to say the people who own this house filled with slides might just be the coolest people on earth.
