Absolutely Adorable Bento Lunch Boxes

Heather Sitarzewski decided one day that she wanted to try making her son a bento box for his school lunch every day for the next year. After getting her bearings, she started to create some wonderful and amazing designs that she would then go on to post on her Facebook. Soon enough a Tumblr ensued and now you can enjoy her great artworks on a regular basis. Let's just hope she doesn't stop at the end of this school year.

The Awesome Murals At the Sesame Workshop Offices

If you're going to work somewhere awesome like the Sesame Workshop, then you'd hope that the decor would reflect just how amazing your workplace is. In this particular case, it certainly does. That's because the walls are chalkboards and artist Louis Henry Mitchell drew fantastic murals of the show's most famous characters on them.

Game of Thrones Houses As Existing Beers

Is it just me or does Winterfell somehow seem like it would be tastier than Heineken?  And, of course, Night's Watch would certainly be better than MGD because, well, anything is better than Miller. But I guess I'm a bit of a beer snob.

Now That's a Helpful Kitty

(Video Link)

Cats have had it too easy for too long, just sitting around lying in the sunshine and attacking the beams from our laser pointers. Finally, here's one that can actually earn its keep. Sure it only does the dishes, but there always has to be a first step.

Because Your Beer Wasn't Geeky Enough Before

Kegerators are cool, but for many, they're just a bit too frat-house-ish. For those that need to nerd up their kegerators, this Android version is a perfect way to accessorize your beer drinking habits. It even uses a tablet to scan drinker's badges so you can ensure no minors are getting drunk and that no one is going too crazy.

When Characters Dress Up for Cinco de Mayo

Ok, so maybe dressing up for Dia de los Muertos for Cinco de Mayo isn't really what they do in Mexico, but hey, it's not even really that big of a holiday there either. Regardless, these cool Dia de los Muertos versions of classic sci fi and fantasy characters are certainly entertaining.

The World's Tastiest iPhone

Pssshh...using your iPhone to call, text and surf the web is so 2011. The real hip iPhone users are eating theirs...or at least the hip people in China who are able to get their hands on the iPhone 5 popsicle. Oddly, while there are mango and pear flavored options, there's no apple flavor.

The Ultimate Locket For Zombies

Romantics like to keep photos of the people they love in heart-shaped lockets, but for those that have more cerebral relationships, this brain-shaped locket is a great alternative. It also works well for zombies to remember the loved ones whose brains they consumed.

When Real Life Looks Like Skyrim

No, that's not a scene from the best role playing game of 2011, it's actually a photo of an auroral storm over Arctic Henge in northern Iceland. Sure video game programers are talented artists, but pictures like this remind us that they have to get their inspiration somewhere.

Even More Amazing Star Wars Pumps

I know I posted some great Star Wars heels last week, but GailPink posted a link to these in the comments and they were so great that I couldn't resist sharing them as well. Unfortunately, I can't find out the original source for these shoes, so if you know where us geek gals can grab a pair for ourselves, please leave a response in the comments.

And You Thought Turkey Soda Was Weird

Jones Soda has made quite a name for itself by selling flavors like turkey and bacon, and a new company now seems to be following in their footsteps. The best thing about Lester's Fixins is that they seem to offer these odd flavors -like sweet corn, buffalo wings and peanut butter and jelly- all year round!

Taking your feline home from the grocery store can be such a chore. Fortunately, this little one has the process all figured out so it will be nice and easy to bag him next time.

From Comics to Film With The Avengers

If you’re geeky enough to read Neatorama, then you undoubtedly already know that The Avengers comes out Friday and that it’s all slated to be the biggest film of the summer. Of course, depending on your individual geek levels, you could be thrilled to see it or irritated that they ruined yet another great comic franchise by failing to follow the actual plots Marvel has already written. Here’s a look at the comic and how the movie will differ from the original storyline.

Origins of the Comic

In 1960, the Justice League first appeared in DC’s The Brave and the Bold. The line up, featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter, soon became quite a hit. Not to be left in the dust, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby quickly put together their own super-hero team and launched The Avengers in September of 1963.

The first line up featured Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, the Wasp and Iron Man. Similar to the ending of Captain America: The First Avenger, at the end of Captain America’s last story line prior to meeting The Avengers, he is lost in the Atlantic Ocean. In the comic, The Avengers discover his body floating in a block of ice and then revive him in issue #4. He soon joins the team and is given “founding member” status in place of Hulk. Hawkeye is added to the team in issue #63. While he always intended to be a good guy, he fell victim to a misunderstanding during his first outing as a super hero.

After being chased by other heroes, he eventually runs into, and quickly falls in love with, the Black Widow, a spy for the U.S.S.R. Following her lead, he helps her steal technology from Tony Stark. Black Widow is injured during one of their escapades, but before Hawkeye can get her to the hospital, she disappears. After this, he pledges to be nothing but good from then on. Later on, he rescues Edwin Jarvis from a mugger, so Jarvis introduces him to The Avengers to help him clear his name. Iron Man sees that Hawkeye is sincere and sponsors his membership into the group.

Black Widow’s backstory is even more interesting as she is a spy for the Soviet Union who has been repeatedly brainwashed to ensure her loyalty. Despite this, she does try to defect to the U.S. after falling in love with Hawkeye and seeing that he has since joined The Avengers. Unfortunately, she is injured by an agent of the KGB and re-brainwashed. She then goes on to fight against the heroes until she recovers her past identity and then manages to successfully defect and join the team in issue #111, eight years after Hawkeye joined.

Avengers-Inspired Eye Make Up

Talented make up artist Jangsara created an entire series of make up styles for The Avengers, one for each character. Personally, I love The Hulk look. If you'd like to learn how to do the looks at home, you're in luck if you like the Iron Man or Captain America, but they both seem a bit extreme for most women (drag queens would absolutely love them though).

Sriracha Pop: Do Not Want!

I know there are plenty of Sriracha lovers out there and even I am partial to a squirt in my pho and a dribble in my taco meat, but a whole lollipop that tastes just like hot sauce, I think I'll pass. What about you guys? Are Sriracha pops a go or a no-go?
