When you're as cute as Lola, it's hard to make a between all the great Halloween costume options available to you. It's finally come down between this great Minnie Mouse costume and a cute little bug. Her owner, reader Tif Semach, is all ready to help her make the final call when the big night comes.
I know plenty of pet owners are still shopping for Halloween costumes (and many aren't going to subject their little furry friends to such silly holiday traditions), but those who do celebrate with their pets, keep sending in pictures of your costumed pets to jill@neatorama.com and your little fluffy friend could end up getting featured here on Neatorama, just like Lola here.
We already have featured some adorable critter Halloween costumes this year, but if you can't get enough, don't miss this great Cute Overload collection of costumed critters. While all the costumes are pretty darn adorable, I just can't get enough of this precious little Ernie bulldog. Just look at that face -it's like he knows how great he looks in costume (or maybe he's just a huge Sesame Street fan).
Of course, don't forget to keep sending in your great pet Halloween costume pics to jill@neatorama.com so you can get your cute critter up on the site as well.
Here in the US, most of our big news about Doritos involve Taco Bell, but over in Japan, the company is always releasing new and exciting flavors into the marketplace. In fact, they just added a new flavor to the line up, Avocado Cheese. No longer do you have to dip your nachos in guacamole -well, at least, if you live in Japan that is.
Of course, even if you do live in a place where you can get you hands on these goodies, you'd better act fast, as the limited edition flavor is only around until February 28.
This tether ball player might not be the best, but I don't think he has much competition either so at least he wins all of his matches. Either way, he certainly looks unbearably cute during this training session.
Personally, I was never that great at tether ball, but I was pretty short back in elementary school and had terrible hand eye coordination. I'm now taller and video games have improved my coordination, so I bet I could whoop butt at it now -at least, assuming I was playing against youngsters and not a bear. I honestly have no idea how well I'd do against people my own size. Anyone want to help me set up the first Neatorama National Tether Ball Tournament.
The Walking Dead just started up again, and while plenty of us love to speculate about what we would do during the zombie apocalypse, BoingBoing has a great point that we pretty much wouldn't have to worry about a hoard of zombies running around the countryside because before they got to us, the animals would get to them. The logic is sound, after all, plenty of animals have adapted to eating rotting meat and recycling it back into the earth, which is precisely why we don't have piles of rotting dead corpses lying around everywhere right now.
Of course, if a zombie apocalypse involved zombie animals, that would be an entirely different story altogether.
Say hello to Tom Barker and the TARDOG. If your pup just can't get enough of Doctor Who (or if you've always just dreamed your pooch was actually a weird reincarnation of the Doctor who will one day sweep you off your feet and take you on a trip through all space and time), then you can't afford not to dress up your pooch as Number 4 or the TARDIS. Better yet, if you have two dogs, you can make them both costumes to recreate the precious scene above.
You can thank Instructables user Iancmaltby for this fantastic photo, but don't get too excited that it's on Instructables because there aren't any details on how to make your own.
Redditor TheSharkFromJaws must be a huge Disney fan. How do I know that? Well, he or she is part of a happy couple not only had this epic Haunted Mansion at their wedding, but they were also actually married at Walt Disney World.
The cake is absolutely amazing, adorned with detailing from the Haunted Mansion wallpapper and a few of the great stretching portraits from the elevator and topped with a special Dune Buggy filled with a few of the hitchhiking ghosts riding and the newlyweds.
For those of us who don't drink beer, Oktoberfest celebrations in the US can be a bit unexciting. Unless you're lucky enough to live in Cincinnati that is, because those lucky Oktoberfest revelers have something entirely different to give them a buzz -wiener dog racing! And to make sure it stays sufficiently adorable, all participants must wear a chic hot dog costume, though they do get their choice of topping.
This year was the Seventh Annual Hillshire-Farm's Running of the Wieners event and over 100 contestants participated for the title of speediest wiener. No word on who the winning wiener was, but in my eyes, they're all winners if they look that adorable.
For us huge Halloween fans, these cool gravestone chair covers would make a cool creepy home decoration we'd be happy to use all year round. For the rest of you though, don't worry, they not only seem pretty easy make, but they also seem easy to remove and store so you can only disturb your guests during October.
The best thing about Northman's Party Vamps' tombstone chair covers being DIY is that you can write whatever you want on them...which means you could even customize them to fit each person attending a dinner party for an extra creepy surprise for your guests.
You probably know by now that we Neatorama writers are big fans of mash ups, even when it comes to food. And this bad boy is all kinds of tasty treats rolled into one. Let's look at them one of a time:
Chocolate chips: out of the boring old cookie and into something new and exciting
Nutella: let's face it, everything could use more Nutella
Cheesecake: cream cheese should be baked into everything right along with Nutella
Cupcake: the cupcake trend may be over, but that doesn't mean they are any less delicious and this amazing dessert proves it
Put them together and you have one heck of an amazing taste sensation. Learn to make these for yourself over at Inside BruCrew Life.
What happens when two of the most famous and adorable special needs animals meet for the first time? Adorable frolicing, of course. And we couldn't be happier to watch them be happy together.
Cris P. Bacon is a disabled pig that knows how to roll in style and Lentil Bean is a precious French bulldog born with a cleft lip that has since been fixed. They might be totally different species with totally different disabilities, but that doesn't mean they can't be best friends and with a meeting like this, they sure look like they're ready to make this friendship last.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm having a pretty crazy October. So crazy, in fact, that I haven't had a chance to post pictures from the San Diego Comic Fest until now. The convention, that took place at the Town and Country Resort the first weekend of October, is a smaller, more intimate alternative to the pop culture explosion that is San Diego Comic Con.
While I'm a huge fan of the massive madness of SDCC, it was a nice change of pace to enjoy something so much more laid back and quiet. The Fest is in its second year, and I think as more San Diegians become aware of the event, it will quickly grow into a nice, comfortable mid-size convention. These days, many locals can't even get tickets to the SDCC and many who can still avoid the massive convention because they can't stand the outrageous crowds or the high prices of attendance (including food and parking). While I doubt the Comic Fest will ever get the same size as Comic Con, that's actually a good thing. In fact, it's kind of the point.
Like all conventions, the Comic Fest has a dealer's hall, panels, artists and more. But one thing that made this convention special was all the kid-friendly programming available. In fact, I'd feel way more comfortable bringing a kid to this convention than any other I've been to because it's not only small enough that you don't have to worry about losing track of your youngster, but they will also have all kinds of fun there.
There is even a whole crafting room for kids with hourly activities such as mask making, alien construction and puppet creation. When I went in, the kids were making hats. Of course, if your kid got tired of crafting, he or she could always head down to the hotel's lovely pool.
Speaking of the pool, while people sunned and swam, artists took advantage of the great weather and worked on their art right there beside the pool. We saw Jeff Remmer paint a cool picture of Ghost Rider (see it completed here).
When I was a youngster, I lived in the most crowded suburb in my small town -in fact, everyone bussed in their kids into my neighborhood. We had so many houses that one trip to all the houses in town would result in a pillowcase over halfway full of candy. Of course, the kids from the neighborhood knew which houses had the best candy and we went there first before their candy bar stashes were wiped out.
That being said, I think if I lived in a smaller neighborhood, I might have been tempted to try putting on a few masks and switching up costumes like these cute pooches to ensure I got my fix by the end of the night. What hijinx we could all get into.
Here at Neatorama, we love our pizza. In fact, Miss C will sometimes eat a whole pizza hoping to just get a buzz. So just wait until she finds out about the new cocktail at LA restaurant Trattoria Neapolis that is pretty much a pizza in a glass.
It would be easy to think this is just a slightly strange Bloody Mary, it really is more pizza-flavored than anything else. While there's no crust, everything else is there, starting with tomato water, porcini mushroom powder and muddled basil. The cocktail then features basil vodka, vodka infused with ghost peppers and is topped off with a parmesean and mozzerella foam.
Yes, deep down we all know that animals don't actually express joy the way we do, so just because they look like they're doing a little dance of joy or have a huge, beaming smile, doesn't actually mean they're happy. Even so, it's pretty darn hard not to believe that the critters on this Buzzfeed list aren't in pure ecstasy.
It's also pretty darn hard not to get a giant smile on your own face when you look at these unbelievably smiley critters. In fact, you might want to bookmark this page because it's almost certain to help you cheer up next time you're having a bad day.
