Turning Plato Into Rowling

There's no doubt that Albus Dumbledore is an intelligent wizard, but did you know that you can turn a bit of wisdom from Plato into a quote that sounds like it came from one of J.K. Rowling just by adding the word "Harry?" That's what Kristen discovered and it's hard to argue with her evidence:

"Death is not the worst that can happen to men, Harry."

"He who commits injustice is ever made more wretched than he who suffers it, Harry."

"He was a wise man who invented beer, Harry."

And that's only a small selection of the ones she came up with.

These Cats Can Make It Rain

I never have any money and my dog still manages to be poorer than me, but cats are true hustlers. In fact, there is a whole blog out there dedicated solely to cats posing with huge piles of money. The site, Ca$hCats, is open to user submissions, so if you happen to have a loaded feline, you might consider sending in your own images.

Of course, here at Neatorama, we are always open to pictures of all animal images, whether or not they happen to contain balling kitties, so you can always send in images like this to us (at jill@neatorama.com) as well.

11 Lawn Decorations That Sparked Controversy

A few weeks ago, John shared the story of a man in England who was told to tone down his Halloween decorations because they were too scary and made a little boy cry. As it turns out, he's not the only person who had the authorities called on him because his Halloween decorations are too scary.

This Oddee article has the story of a few other home owners who were told to tone it down, though not all of the controversial yard decor is related to Halloween. Some of the complaints are a lot more political in nature, though personally, I prefer the classic scary Halloween decorations and the middle finger hedges.

Forget the Cronut, Instead Enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner In A Pastry

We love croissants, especially when they're mixed with even more delicious treats. If you're looking for something a little holiday-inspired with your croissant, then you might want to head to New York to try Momofuku Milk Bar's new Thanksgiving Croissant. It not only has celery salt to give it that savory stuffing flavor, but also gravy, cranberry sauce and turkey to ensure you get all the best of a holiday dinner for only $4.50. Of course, if you want to feel as stuffed as you do after a major Thanksgiving dinner, you'll need to eat at least eight of them.

Disney Princes In Their Halloween Costumes

We've already seen what the Disney Princesses wore this Halloween, but now Isaiah Stephens has turned around and tried his hand at imagining what the princes would wear. While it's fun to see Beast as Hulk, there's no more fitting costume than Flynn Rider and Maximus dressed as Marty McFly and Doc Brown.

Of course, part of the fun of Halloween is the opportunity to pretend to be something you never could be in real life and that would be great fun for Quasimodo, especially if he got to live out his dreams of being lady's man Austin Powers.

Great Costumes By The Readers of The Mary Sue

While The Mary Sue didn't post up pictures of their readers' costumes throughout October like we did, they did still do a round up at the end of the month. While there are plenty of great ones in their collection, this take on Microsoft's dreaded "blue screen of death" is a great example of how to turn a concept into a tangible costume. I particularly love Rachel's use of Perler beads as the Windows logo hair piece -and her blue hair only helps sell the costume.

Beth's Totoro dress is also quite cute and something that she could wear throughout the year, if she's nerdy enough.

This Two Year Old Rocks Dress Up As All Of The Doctors

Ever considered going to a convention or Halloween party as The Doctor? Well, that's all well and good, but just remember that no matter how good your costume, it still won't be nearly as cool as all eleven Doctor Who costumes worn by this adorable little two year old girl for Halloween.

This little gal is the daughter of Todd Kent, who previously dressed Katie up as every member of the Avengers and the entire Lantern Corps, making her the most awesomely nerdy toddler in the world.

10 of the World's Largest Pets

If you haven't heard, we here at Neatorama love fat cats, but even if you aren't a big fan of giant cats, this great list of the 10 largest pets is sure to entertain. Note, that's not the largest animal species, but some of the largest animals of different species, so there's everything from dogs to racoons -and you've gotta see him.

The most crazy of the critters though is Godie, a standard goldfish that was bought in a pet store for 99 cents and lived for 15 years, during which time he grew to two pounds and fifteen inches long.

Lucy Skywalker Has One Heck of a Father

Say hello to Lucy Skywalker and her trusty tauntaun that will hopefully not be converted into a frozen rebel incubator. This adorable little Jedi owes her impressive costume to her pop, Paco Allen, who has apparently not joined the Dark Side as he is still lovingly slaving away to be a great daddy.

Make talked to Paco about what he needed to do to create this masterful costume, and you can find out everything you need if you have any intent to attempt to recreate his brilliant design for your own aspiring Jedi nect year.

Maple Pumpkin Brulee Cheesecake

If you actually cook up your pumpkins after Halloween rather than just carving them and then throwing in them in the trash, it's time to get baking. If you're tired of the same old pumpkin pie recipe, why not try your hand at something a little different...like, say, cheesecake. And this isn't just any cheesecake, it's maple pumpkin brulee cheesecake, which means it's pretty much heaven.

The base of the recipe comes from this Better Homes and Gardens maple pumpkin cheesecake recipe, but the brulee topping instructions (arguably the most important) is a special addition to the basic recipe and the directions for that step can be found here.

The Real Mother of Dragons

How does a mother of triplets absolutely win at Halloween? Well, she can take advantage of her brood by making them into three dragons, which just so happens to be the same number that Daenerys Targaryen has in Game of Thrones. And what woman wouldn't want to be the mother of dragons if they all looked like these little sleepy angels?

This lovely weyr of dragons belongs to Redditor ElShanko's sister (the Daenerys in the picture). If you happen to think she looks like Angela from The Office, the Reddit comments show you're not alone. Let's hope she dresses up as Angela next year and puts her youngsters in kitty costumes.

Sherlock, Starring Benedict Kittybatch

Halloween may be over, but it's never too late to appreciate a cute critter in a costume -especially when that costume happens to be super dorky like this kitty in the Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock ensemble. The best part is that her grumpy, serious face really works for the costume, as though Lilly is ready to go solve crimes the rest of us could never hope to unravel. For those who need to see a little comparison between Lilly and Benedict:

Last year, Lilly was a My Little Pony, which we featured in our non-dog costumes roundup earlier last month.

Stylin' Embroidered Sriracha Necklace

Is there anything more fashionable than delicious spicy food? Well, maybe there usually is, but when it comes to this cool handmade embroidered Sriracha pendant by Captain Nook. Sure, it might not make your food taste spicy good, but it will at least remind those around you to add in a little extra shot of spice into their food whenever you go to eat out together and let the world know you love the heavenly rooster sauce.

You know what they say, "some like it hot" and this necklace is a great way to show that you are among those that do.

Historically Accurate Snow White

We previously featured Claire Hummel's drawings showing how Disney princesses would dress if their costumes were historically accurate. Now here's a cool take on her Snow White drawing turned into an actual dress by DeviantArt cosplayer Tsu-yaa. In case you're wondering, the story takes place in Germany in approximately 1500-1550.

The pictures look particularly great considering that they were shot in a small Austrian castle. If I was Snow, I would be wary of that giant mirror, mirror on the wall. That thing is just bad news, even if it is just being honest.

Looking to Maximize Your Candy Consumption? Here's A Guide

Now that you've gotten all your Halloween candy, whether from your kid's trick or treat stash or your own leftover candy, it's time to enjoy eating all those sweets and if you want to do it right, you'll want to maximize consumption over the next day or two.

If so, you should check out this great Food Beast guide on how to eat as much candy as humanly possible. Since you won't start weeks in advance like a real competitive eater, you won't be able to fully stretch out your stomach, but you will need to be sure to eat prior to snacking or your stomach will shrink, but don't eat too much or you'll be full, so eat lightly.
