Actually Wordygrrl, I live in a border city and I know just how bad the violence is already. That's why I would love to see people take a stand against the cartels. The government and police in Mexico sure haven't done anything to stop them.

I agree with AMercer, it seems like this was from a zoo and even the fact that it was shoved in the things mouth doesn't mean the person was being cruel. If they were worried it was sick or that its jaw was injured, that would be a safe way to take a look at its reflexes and anatomy without risking their own safety.

He's right Alex, fighting dogs are usually put down the second they show aggression towards a person instead of another dog.
Also, if it had a ton of scars and was really sweet, it may have been a bait dog -the ones used to rile up the fighters. Generally, those dogs are the nicest, but also the most seriously abused.
