i have inherited all of my mom's art supplies and i totally have those. they were great for arts & crafts when i was growing up, and definitely helped with my creativity today!

great job again! two words for you: giant cursor. so we can see what you're doing on your website previews and for comedy's sake, a giant red or yellow cursor would be amazing.

@sw- only in theoretical dollars.
dude's mom had it right, though. if you're gonna do it, do ALL of it. glad the guy found some meaning in his life. and yes it is HIS life. not mine, not yours, and not the rest of the judgmental people out there. we all know we wouldn't do it for reasons known to us, but there should be no reason to ridicule the guy for having a unique opinion about body art. so he chose to invest $4000 in a body mod? doesn't change MY life one drop. what does it matter that this ONE GUY can't get a "regular" job? he could get PLENTY of jobs, some maybe BECAUSE of his tatoos. i'm eager to see what he's doing in ten years.
and to those who keep saying "he'll regret it in X years," just shut up. first of all, how many times have you been told you'll regret something and you did it anyway? get over yourself. second, telling someone with a tatoo that they will regret it later in life is sort-of a punch in the gut. i have a couple tatoos and i will never regret them. i may grow-out of their general appeal, but i will never lose sight of what they represent to me. the strawberry shortcake on the back of my calf may not "look" good on my 80-year-old body, but it will still represent the innocence of my childhood: something that can never be forgotten.
give the guy a frickin' break.

well duh. if it's smelly, chunky, moldy, slimy, or miscolored, you probably shouldn't eat it. they only print those dates to avoid lawsuits.
but regardless of whether they're labelling their products correctly, they're still allowing hoards of beef and produce contaminated by salmonella to reach the market. baaaaad food distributors. BAD!

the pictures would be much better if they took the flash off the camera and turned a light on. can't really see them that well. cool concept, though.

but is this GENUINE happiness? or could it be due to the fact that hedonism is a social norm these days?

you should ALWAYS help those less fortunate, regardless of whether they're homeless or not. it's good karma. to answer your question, alex, no i don't think it would encourage those homeless to flock to SF. as lots already mentioned, most of the homeless population is stricken with mental illness, so they most likely would not even think to migrate to a different city. how would they get there anyway, without walking or hitchhiking? it definitely wouldn't enourage anyone to BECOME homeless (why would anyone want to be homeless?), so i doubt by doing this the homeless population would increase.
i always feel bad for throwing away my leftovers, and for not volunteering for anything, so i think this would illeviate some guilt. there aren't any homeless where i live because all the suburbanites chased them away, but if i lived in the proper social arena, i would definitely put my leftovers on top of trashcans. we waste too much in the world, and we especially waste too much (and not just food) here in the US. and we're stingy as hell, too. it's great that everyone claims an individual mentality because they can stand their own ground, but when it comes time to steer away from individual gratification, the group mentality is all wrong. there ARE people who can't find a job and make it for themselves, and those who can't grasp this are the ones saying the homeless can solve their own damn problem.
i think every little bit helps. even just an attitude adjustment about the situation helps because as long as people are THINKING about the problem, the group mentality will shift towards a more positive outlook, which will then bring forth new volunteers and more help, which will lead to a smaller homeless population. those of you who are being complete d*cks about this are only contributing to the problem. thanks.

my best friend got married at 19 and popped out her first kid at 21, and she just had her second kid a week ago (she's 22). every time i talk to her she says "you need to get married and have babies so our kids can play together" and every time i say "no no.. i'm good." and then go on to explain that i'm more than happy WITHOUT children right now. she's also in severe debt because of these children... definitely not something i want at the age of 22. not that i don't think children wouldn't enrich my life at some point, i just have too many personal goals i want to accomplish before i tie myself down to the harbor.
miss c had it COMPLETELY right. nothing in life MAKES you happy (or sad or anxious or nervous or mad). YOU are the ONLY PERSON that MAKES you feel/do/say anything, and it is up to you to interpret it as good/bad. raising children doesn't MAKE you unhappy.. you make yourself unhappy because things aren't going as you expected. but it's ignorant to expect ANYTHING when raising children because every child is different and you can't expect to push them out, raise them, and shove them out the door without some complications.
i'm waiting to have children. i want to adopt one day, and maybe even avoid the whole mutilated vagina thing that comes with child-bearing. my boyfriend and i always promise each other we're never having kids, but we both know we have a soft spot and would make terrific parents. we're just enjoying the ability to come and go as we please, and drink and carry-on through all hours of the night. i'm sure the novelty will wear off and we'll need to set a new pace, but it won't be for another decade. plus, i want to wait until after 2012 for a couple different reasons..

i'm not male so i don't know this personally, but i've dated guys who said a certain amount of sagging was for comfort, but added that sagging more than just a couple inches was excessive. so i can agree with that much. i don't care either way.. yes, it's ridiculous and i can't believe it's an actual fashion statement, but c'mon-- they are ASKING to be ridiculed. feel free to put them in their place by openly making fun of the fact that they force themselves to walk like penguins. i think it's hilarious to see someone with their feet out as wide as they can get with a bunch of denim bunched up between their knees and their feet.. seriously. it looks like they're 3 years old waiting for their mommy to pull their pants up after making poopy. if they want to look like that, they have whatever they get coming to 'em. you don't see many full-grown adults doing this, so we can bet that it's just another teen fad that will go away sooner or later.

i am only two weeks into being able to say "after college," and i don't agree with anything on the list. i didn't do anything like that in college, in fact, i avoided the majority of those situations. i'm also not your run-of-the-mill civilian, so i'm not too surprised that i don't agree with the list.

yea i'm vegetarian (but not strictly.. i still eat laura's lean beef and organic chicken), but it's definitely a more expensive diet. produce is more expensive than meat and has been, especially now that we're using a lot of it as fuel in our gas guzzlers. that's why i thought many people were NOT vegetarian, because it was cheaper.
yunno, i'm really glad everyone is sharing good information on this post and not just arguing semantics. it gives me hope that we can unite further and make something good out of this national/global crisis. thanks everyone for being good...

john goodman wasn't THAT big in the movie.
does it come with a piss-scented paisley rug?
and where IS the jesus?
[side note- did you guys know that in the TV-edited version of the movie the Jesus doesn't even exist as a character? and they took out the drawing made by jackie treehorn. MADNESS!]

i agree with the majority here.. Faux News is not a credible source... and it probably just gave them an extra bonus to say a study supports their own biases.
