I agree, practically none of the girls on the list are fat and they all do look like very realistic women's body shapes. Pong Sirioput seems to think that by "eating right" (which is hard to do considering every nutrition specialist in the world seems to give conflicting advice) and exercising you can be a perfect 36-24-36, but news flash -not all women are built the same and some women stay thin despite having horrible diets and some women look thick and muscular even when they're in peak shape.

Why is it "feminist propaganda" to point out that media portrayals of women are unrealistic? Female bodies are photoshopped to the point where no one even has an idea of what "real" much less healthy bodies look like. Comments like the ones above always proclaim their concern over obesity yet woman who age or aren't perfectly fit are criticized. This criticism isn't the same for men. Few men's bodies are commented on unless they are obviously unhealthy such as Chris Christie.

Neither Sonya Blade or Bikini Girl look obese to me. I do not expect the women in my life to be shaped like Victoria Secret models or the men in my life to look like The Rock. That's because very few people have the genetic disposition to that body type and or the need to train/diet for that body.

The end of the article, which I think is Miss C's opinion, is right, there is no consciousness at all; just clever programing.

As the steps are explained the program doesn't check by attempting to make sounds and then assessing whether sounds were made or not.

It just checks to see if the robot knows (which they can't know) so then they must report "I don't know" and it is only after that assessment and report happen that the program re-checks (now with more information) and it turns out it does know.

The other 2 robots are stuck in a loop, they check and don't know; They report but gain no additional information; They check and they don't know; They report but gain no additional... you get it.. (keep in mind to the robot the report happens regardless of the connection to the speakers. The signal comes out anyway.

I think they are attempting to program responses similar to consciousness. I think eventually by this process we'll get robots closer and closer to something resembling ours. Then again who says our consciousness is the most effective? maybe robots will have something more efficient, better.

Christopher Landry, we once had a huge number of non-skilled positions in factories that are no more. I know a lot of guys who spent years in the skilled trades such as construction, masonry, roofing, plumbing, electrical, etc. and by the time they are 50 their bodies are worn out and broken. Others are not so easy to train. Remember that half of the population is below average, and average is not all that intelligent.

I am conflicted about this. On the one hand, I hate noisy kids, especially those who are just spoiled brats. On the other hand, I have a three year old daughter with ASD and she may suddenly throw a fit for no reason. We can usually calm her down but it takes a minute or two, which can be one to two minutes of absolute screaming. When we can't calm her down, I usually take her out of the restaurant and window shop for a bit (dads are in-charge of girls, moms with boys, is the rule right?).

When she's ready to come back to the restaurant, I look forward to cold food and everyone else has eaten theirs. =\

I'm not sure you can lump all noisy kids together. To me, there's a world of difference between sharing a restaurant with a child that's tired, or upset or whatever but is being tended to to the best of the parents' ability, as opposed to a noisy brat with parents who couldn't give a damn.
Both ours were generally OK, but they had their moments, but we were always trying to deal with the problem - and generally succeeded.
Compare that to parents who just ignore bad behavior and I hope you'll see they ain't the same and shouldn't be treated the same.
Yes - the effect on people around you could be the same, but only if they're interested in surface rather than cause.
