Oh Ms ;) Cellania... You always take me so literally... It was a reference to the movie from which the pic was taken. A modern classic... (much like "Fast Times..." was for our generation) :) Mallrats - The Food Court Debate
The cookie stand is not a part of the food court... it's an autonomous unit for mid-mall snacking... cookie stand's downstairs... food court it upstairs... it's not like we're talking quantum physics here.
I'm sure I'll catch flak for it... but I think perhaps JJ should have spent less time dropping in Easter eggs and more time crafting an original story instead of just rehashing the plot of Ep. IV beat-for-beat.
All that time, such an expansive universe of possibilities and we get the same story (essentially) as we had in '77?
I think it might be Cher in the see-through top (who seems to appear again a few pics lower)... and the late Dorothy Stratten with Hef (in a moment that was immortalized in "Star 80") in a shot between those two. Tiegs, Fawcett(-Majors), Blair and Tilton... so many 70's heartthrobs.
The fantastic docu The Bridge also featured one such survivor (amongst a plethora of stories of those who did not). Haunting... and one of the best docs I've seen in the last 10 years.
Hahaha. Or I always thought it would be great to answer every interview question with a terse "Oh, you'd like that wouldn't you?!?!?" or "Are you calling me a liar?!?!"
I'm a jerk, I know... but I always thought, being someone who works a comfy office job with 4 weeks of paid vacation a year, how fun it would be to get a low-level retail job during a week off without actual vacation travel plans... and to see how fast you could get fired for being the worst employee they've ever had. The stories you would leave the managers with would be compensation for their hassle. Heh. Can you imagine how slapsticky you could get at McDonalds if you didn't care about the job/paycheck at all? Then just go back to your "real" job the next week. Heh.
I was "lucky" enough to see that on TV when it first aired. It still sits in the back of my psyche to this day over 40 years later and rears up anytime other movies have a character leering at someone through a peephole in a wall.
It sits beside the frozen bow and arrow scene of "Playgirl Killer" and the troll- doll-come-to-life from the third segment of "Trilogy of Terror" in my mind.
Heh. I remember we found the Pizza Hut logo guy really disturbing back then... due to the fact that both of his eyes were drawn on one side of his nose. :P

Yes, I'm a horrible person... I know. :)
