I do find it rather suspicious that the “happiest countries” are all so close together. I’m calling BS on this study.
That's because they are all 'snuggling'!
Actually I always check the validity of these polls, who ran them, are they a Danish tourist board, etc.
Turns out that in this case the originating organisation is pretty solid.

In "Do Androids dream of electric sheep?"
Deckard is not saving up for an electric sheep, in fact he already has one that he is pretending is a real sheep. In that novel all real animals have high status value due to being very nearly wiped out.
Deckard's fake sheep is a source of great shame to him.
Deckard dreams of having a real sheep, hence the title of the book. You see?

"ethnically homogenous"
interesting ideology you've got going on there.
note : here in Europe we have been sleeping with strangers for centuries, it's worked out fine for us.
BTW: In case you don't know, Europe is that country in France, near Australia.

nice idea, terrible name.
how can these guys move on with their lives working in a prison themed job? If there's one thing they've had enough of I bet it's the "prison theme"!
Also, it's not really going to improve their CVs, is it?
A nice nondescript name would be better for everyone.

the oddest thing about this speech is that the deaths are still future tense, because they are marooned without hope of rescue. Most similar speeches these days relate to past tense tragedies, a plane has crashed or a shuttle exploded.

erm, you say : "[babies]the noises they can hear are limited to those in the 6000-8000mHz range"
I very much doubt that!
the human hearing range is from around 30hz to about 20 kilohertz
a megaherz is a thousand times the frequency of a kilo hertz, so according to you babies can hear frequencies far far above the human hearing threshold?
our top frequency is 20,000 hz and babies can hear
6,000,000,000 hz ? really?
I'd guess that womb sounds are between 600hz and 800hz

Damn, all through my childhood I avoided touching mercury because adults told me how deadly it was.

wikipedia tells me it is an alloy
Metal pipes are usually made of an alloy of lead and tin, along with trace amounts of antimony and copper for increased rigidity.

I would wear a mask.

It seems to be that the winner should be the one with the most 'front paged' stories, rather than the one that has submitted the most.
Surely I could submit a thousand dupes and win this thing under existing rules?

I think that video shows too much of the pieces 'workings', in fact it's better to see it with a bit more wonder left in.

wow, this is bad.
Really really bad.
Perhaps it's less awful if you are familiar with the people in the video? I'm guessing they are US sports stars.
can you add a tag for 'failed viral'
and perhaps 'unconvincing astroturf'

Even more ridiculous. How about the purported 102 year average of the swan?
well, rather than 102 you ought to think seven. Yes, seven years

the original article is a little bit "fact light" eh?
