Dave 20's Comments

A local outfit that rents inflatables has had one of these for years. I thought it was tacky as all get out the first time I saw it, and haven't changed my mind a bit.

People may have been cashing in on disasters for a long time, but that doesn't lessen this things tastelessness.

You're welcome! Just call me Dave.

This Sanford thing is pretty amazing; within hours of the announcement on Saturday they changed the signage on the front of the hospital to reflect the new name.

I like a good burly cup of coffee, so Starbucks (or Caribou or other high end shops) works well for me. But I hate paying through the nose for it. I tried a cup of Burger King's Turbo Joe a while back, and was very impressed. Add to that it's about 1/3 the price, and they add half & half and sugar for you when you're in the drive-thru, and I keep coming back.

I'd like to make the coffee on my own, but haven't figured out how to make it strong enough... what do people use for equipment & blend for a cup that compares to Starbucks?

The Constitutional right to bear arms was written by folks with a very clear recollection of the Revolutionary War, and the "well regulated militia" to which they referred was the force that allowed them to be freed from the oppressive British rule they had known for a long time. They knew that there was a chance that the new government they created could eventually arrive at a point where freedom was again restricted as it was under the British, and if that were to happen the only recourse for the people would be to fight against their government. The right to bear arms is, therefore, one more check and balance in the system of government we enjoy.

The "well regulated militia" does not refer to a force that is organized and ready to go, but rather the potential that exists to gather such a force. I think it was Noah Webster who wrote something to the effect that the government cannot deprive the citizenry of their liberties as long as the people have the power to fight back. I don't know what compels people to such angst against gun ownership, but that is enough for me to seriously doubt anyone in or running for political office who promotes any kind of ban on firearm ownership.

All this is fairly basic material as taught by the Federalists. It's a topic worthy of research by anyone who has any appreciation for the freedom we enjoy in the US.

Thanks, Rob, for telling it straight. Ignore the imbeciles posting negativity about the job you guys are doing. For every a$$hat with a negative comment, there are dozens of right-thinking individuals waiting to shake your hand and thank you for serving.

Keep up the great work. And thanks.

"Flocking to cinemas nationwide."

Can't wait! But maybe I will wait, for the DVD that is.

I just watched it again; was that "Mint Sauce" that he threw on the were-sheep? I think that's what was written on the label anyway.

Fact is, the way the Humvee was being driven isn't all that unusual for a place like Iraq. There are lots of other drivers doing the same thing with less reason than the Marines did. Traffic laws are treated more as suggestions. In a busy intersection it's the guy with the loudest horn and the boldest moves that gets through first.

Very cool building. But what I'd like to see is how they got some of the video shots. Some shots look like they're from a helicopter, but about 2:30 into the video there's a shot that starts way above the top of the wall and dives into the lower level... How did they do that?
