Who knows? It just bugs me that people assume it's NOT natural just because it doesn't match up with their beliefs. Until it's 100% certain either way, it's kind of arrogant to make assumptions.

I'd never even heard of this one.

It seems quite a few cities have a "great fire" in their histories. Stands to reason, though, seeing that most buildings were made out of wood in the olden days.

Geez... Nobody's saying that EVERYBODY has to ride their bike to work. But can you imagine what a difference it would make if the majority of people who lived in urban areas with good weather ditched their cars for bikes?

I applaud these people. It's pretty brave to ride a bike in today's society, inhaling the stinking fumes of the SUV drivers who couldn't care less about the environment or their own bodies (many of whom, I suspect, commented on this thread).

Cat abuse!

Those were some pretty wimpy women, though. Especially considering the cats didn't actually attack. Mind you, I guess getting hit by a flying cat isn't that pleasant either.

This is nothing new. The media has just decided to run with it... again.

It says more about the way parents let their kids behave these days. If your kid can't behave well enough to ride an escalator without getting his body parts ripped off, then perhaps he should be left at home.

In the olden days, it was shoelaces. Now it's Crocs. The difference is, my generation was taught not to fool around on escalators. Kids today aren't.

If it's such an advantage, why don't you see able-bodied athletes cutting off their legs (other than the fact that they wouldn't be able to compete due to these stupid rules)? Steroids may give an advantage. But having no legs? I kind of doubt it.

I think Mr. Gailey is right. The other athletes just don't want to be beaten by someone who's less than "perfect".
