Peta, how do you know this whale is not having the time of it's life? Humans strive for this kind of notoriety, how do you know the whales do not have the same drive to be in the spot light? I say that this is the whale the others would watch on whale TMZ if they only had the chance. That is what peta should be doing; working on the under water whale tv so the others can feel better about themselves when this whales celebrity marriage fails!
Wow, I am amazed at all the USA haters. I didn't read all the comments, but I didn't hear anyone saying that it should not be done, just that it reminded them of the twin towers. That is what I saw before reading the caption. The attacks of 9/11 hurt all Americans and many others around the world. I don't think there is anything egocentric about acknowledging that this image reminded many of that pain.
What is the government doing in the marriage business at all? Marriage was traditionally handled by the church and that is how it should of stayed. If you don't like the fact that this church or that church allows gay marriage, then don't go there. Then there is nothing left to argue about.
The government should only be in the contracts business (i.e. civil unions) between any 2 (or more?) consenting adults.
Um...so...who are her lawyers, Mars and Venus? The danger in the earth having rights is those who are empowered to enforce them. What about the earth violating our human rights with natural disasters? What do I sue for? This sounds like a great idea.
