I can see how it may look like a reflexive response on the part of MadMolecule, but it is unfair to condemn people for asking for evidence to back up your claims regardless of the arena in which such a demand takes place.
I am curious; can you please be more specific as to how you arrived at these conclusions? Did you go over the data of the study in question and correct the data of each of the apply Sidereal astrology to each of the 2,492 individuals yourself of did somebody else? Is there a link to this analysis? What is your definition of "not in line with what you would expect from chance"? Was a statistical analysis performed?
And more importantly, can you explain to me what the mechanisms are that cause celestial bodies to influence the human psyche based on one's date of birth?

Yeah, and encyclopedia collections? What a waste of money. They are so ridiculously expensive and quickly become redundant. Nobody reads them either. I don't think they should count as part of a library unless they are accompanied by many other books.

Agreed. I'd slap Sylvia Browne in the face if I could.

@dashell hammett
Then I guess that would make almost every room in my home including the toilet a library.

Seeing as the control group didn't take any pills, the control isn't really as rigorous as it could be as it does not control for the ritual of taking a pill which could contribute to the placebo effect independently of belief in the treatment due to previous experience that associates taking a pill with feeling better. Seeing as this is merely a replication of much older studies with similar findings it would have been more informative and scientifically rigorous to have a group unknowingly taking placebos as an additional control so that not only would the ritual of taking a pill be controlled for, but we can see whether the placebo effect is weakened by knowledge that the pills are placebos.

I think a lot of people have an "all or none" attitude towards dieting. If they cave and eat a couple of Oreos it's easy to say "well there's my day ruined. May as well make a few more allowances today and start the diet tomorrow!"

Maybe they all mash together so well because popular music all sounds the same these days.

"Pterosaurs were believed to walk on four legs using what we call "knuckles". So it is safe to presume that the animals exhibited hands." WTF?
These "researchers" are clearly looking for the means to a creationist end.
My guess is these large, nocturnal, bioluminescent creatures Papua New Guineans have been spotting are large, pale coloured owls (of which there are many species native to the country). I have had owls swoop near me at night before and believe me it seems as though they are monstrously HUUGE until you actually get a good look at them with a night vision camera.
If you treck into the deepest, darkest depths of the jungles of Papua New Guinea, you'll find a pterosaur, big foot, Nessie, the abominable snowman, and a bunyip having a tea party.

Neat. I look forwards to independent scientific confirmation of these claims.

These already exist.
