Lore 1's Comments
My love for Calvin and Hobbes began when I found them in my library when I was 10. My favorite scenes were always the ones with Rasalyn the babysitter and all the trouble that they got into. Watterson was a genius and should be commended for it.

Some of them are cute and I look forward to teaching them to my future children... but some seem super old fashion and don't fit with the times as of now. Now i'm thinking of rules for my unborn daughter to educate her in the years to come...

Let them fail.
It's like dealing with small children. I wouldn't give my 15 year old 20 more dollars if he spent it all on candy and realized he needed books for school. They knew this was coming, we all saw an economic crisis coming and they're not dealing with it in a way that's going to help anyone but themselves. They need to learn to cut back as well with their million dollar($) paychecks every month while the lower and middle class are struggling to pay bills.

@ me: you have your channels... it's every channel but BET.
I for one am excited that OBAMA has been elected as the new president of the United States.
What I can't get over is the fact that people believe that just because we have the first black president that all of a sudden America has become a color blind society. Having Obama as president is going to test his character in more ways than he realizes and IF he doesn't succeed his failure is going to resonate not only for him but also for all communities of color in the US. Don't just assume that because he was elected all of a sudden marginalized communities in the US will become better off. People are still racist, they still hate and they will still discriminate even with Obama as president. It takes everyone making small changes for BIG changes to occur in the US.
He has a lot of work to do and it's doubtful that he will be able to fix everything in 4 years. But at this point CHANGE is absolutely necessary and there's no on e better to get the job done than Obama. GOBAMA! '08 and '12!

We need to find solutions that aren't band-aid solutions. We (US, 1st world countries) can't continue to go in and feed them and give them resources without teaching them to fend for themselves. A large part of the problem is that these countries have become dependent on other countries to fix the problem instead of coming up with solutions themselves and learning from it.

I agree... the classics are rubbish. Bunch of stuff no one cares about and doesn't have much relevance in our crazy day anymore.

Yep. It's happening all across the state. NE portland especially. African Americans can't afford their taxes on the houses that they own and so they have to sell and it's all the hip younger kids coming in.

For reals? People have too much time on their hands to stop and actually take the time to take pennies off. Wow.

I agree. Where are the women construction workers? I bet they have an opinion on this one way or another. Let's see what they have to say and decide on changing the signs. Regardless of what the signs say we should be careful on the road at all times.

Everyone seems to keep forgetting that this kid is 9 years old. 9! He did what he thought was best in his situation, which was to get his friend home, who had just been hit by an SUV to his mom. If I was 9 years old and saw my friend get hit by a car in front of me I probably would have done the same thing.
Yes, we NOW know that moving an injured person is a bad idea. But when you're 9 there's really not much to think about when you're friend has gotten hurt.
