Ah the Wilhelm scream. Everytime I hear it on a film or TV show I yell out "WILHELM!" as loud as possible. It's fun to scare my family with it, but they're starting to pick up on things and scream "WILHELM!" with me.
So far I haven't heard it in the cinema, but it will be quite interesting to see what everyone else's reactions are when I suddenly shout out "WILHELM!" in the middle of the film (you can get away with anything as long as you turn around to see who did it with everyone else...)^_^

This would be a great gift for my friend who takes Psychology. She already has a bobble head of Jung and Freud and a Freud which laughs when you tickle it (yes I don't know what that one's about either) so this would be an excellent addition to her collection. Shame they only ship to America... that's such an annoyance.

Finally! Someone agrees with me how dumb Lost is!
If you watch a mystery, you want to get the feeling that you are actually progressing towards finding out what happened. But Lost is three series in (in England at least) and there still doesn't seem to be any answers.

It didn't really suprise me when I watched Cloverfield that there was a big crazy monster who no one knew anything about, a load of annoying main characters who slowly died and nothing was explained at all. It was written by J.J. Abrams!

They are pretty cool, but most of the square ones don't look that good... they remind me of the guitars you made in primary school out of cereal packets and elastic bands...
What would be REALLY good is a guitar made out of the original Xbox. Now THAT would look awesome.
And Thomas, there's a video at the bottom of the page of a guy playing the Mega Drive guitar. I think the sound quality is about the same as a regular guitar (it's electric, so the shape doesn't really matter as much)

Not as good as the Twiglet hedgehog!
It's like a big sausage roll with cheese spread over the top and twiglets stuck in the top!
Oh but you guys don't have Twiglets... I suppose you could use carrots or celery sticks, but it won't be the same...

It kind of reminds me of the Library of Wadi-Ben Dahr (not sure if this name is correct), an installation that was in the museum of women in the arts about three years ago. It was a room filled with furniture all covered in pages of books, and containing books filled with real things like insects or jewels against the pages. All the items in it were themed with the pages covering it e.g. the chessboard was made out of Sun Tzu's Art of War, the umbrella of Shakespeare's plays etc.
I can't seem to find out any more information about this though.

I haven't really participated in any crazy races, although for the school sponsored run last year me and my best friend dressed up as Mario and Luigi (complete with plungers and theme music) and ran six miles ^_^
I've heard of the Gorilla run too, they had it in London a little while back.
I'm doing a race (well more of a walk really) in about two months for the local hospice at midnight. It's women only (I think we're raising money for breast cancer equipment, which affects a lot more women than men) walking about six or seven miles along the beach in almost complete darkness!
Also I have a question: why do Americans use the imperial system for everything except running differences (kilometres)? Is it just to make it sound more impressive (5k sounds more impressive than three miles)?

WOO I love these guys ^_^
I dressed up as a 118 twin for a sponsored walk about three years back! (well there was meant to be another person but they backed off at the last minute...)
They've changed the actors who play them recently though, now they just annoy me.
I remember in the "heyday" of 118 everytime you got a teacher tell us to turn to page 118 the lesson would have to stop for a minute while everyone sang the 118 theme... good times.

Yeah, most of these apply only to Americans. You screwed our language up good. ^_^ But it's odd how some American things actually make more sense than the english version. For example, Americans usually drop the "h" in "herb", while in England it's always pronounced. But the American version is actually correct, as the word herb was originally French and the French don't pronounce the h either. I find it weird how English was invented over here and we still manage to mess it up sometimes, while you guys get it right...

I know this is cheesy and cliche, but I loved the last line of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:
"All was well".

Also, the last line of Roald Dahl's last book, the Minpins:
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”
Okay I added in the line before it as well, but that's because it's just as fantastic.

Also I know I'm always plugging this book, but that's just because it's incredible (has in my opinion the best first line and last line ever):
"Only the margin to write in now. I love you, I love you, I love you."
I Capture the Castle

Doesn't it say that she was born at Howletts? I'm confused...
They tried to shut this place down about ten years ago, because it wasn't making enough profit or something. I remember going with my mum to a protest meeting to try and get them to keep it open. If it had closed, this little baby would never have been around.
Aw this just makes me want to visit again! I haven't been there for a few years...

What's odd is that most of them say they have a gun for "protection" and then have more than one. Why would you need so many just to protect yourself? I think a lot of time guns are like smoking; people just do it and they don't really think about why.
