it was on Reuters too. In ALL cased of the article, it says "according to SuchAndSuch" then goes on to state his story as fact.

What a great lesson on how much we can rely on 'official' media.

As a side note, it's odd that the story is a 'good example' for the politician's agenda.

I agree with a lot of the info above. A politician shares a 'story' about bla bla bla. Sounds like BS.

I don't understand my someone would want to be a cannibal, anyhow. I'd imagine humans were so full of toxic crap (perservatives, etc) due to our died that'd we'd taste horrible. Well... vegans might infact be 'tasty' if they grew all their own stuff and it was organic, etc.. but i'd rather not find out.

THe announcer says at one point "Playful physicists." which made me chuckle. A tshirt that just said "Playful Physicist" would be cool.

Acttually, people can get quite nasty over the phone even when calling an American call center. Before the call center I used to work at was outsorced (a few years ago), any number of people I worked with had a ton of storys of horribly mean callers (and it was inbound-only cutomer service, no sales!)

So, in all honesty, these guys are really just experiencing what we used to. Race aside, the 'mean caller' would find anything to single out and insult you about, and racism wasn't forbidden (for example, if the caller sounded like a certain ethnicity, or even if the customer preferred a different gender rep..) Of course, they probably have a higher frequency of 'mean callers' because of the language issue.

While I liked school and had some cool teachers, I have to agree that this is a pretty annoying thing. It's arrogant, vendictive, and insulting all at once.

Also, it clearly reveals that the teacher believes that certain people are clearly 'better' than other. (Granted, many people might believe this, but I try to uphold the ideal we're all in this together as humans.)

Also, there is 'lap band' and not just gastric bypass. One of my aunts had lap band, and its been successful (what a difference!) for almost 4 years. I've met some of her friend she met through her surgery-support-group thing, and some have had it for quite a long time and not gained anything back.

Humans are a varied lot....

Addictions are a very complicated thing to some people, and any form of it isn't as cut and dry as a logical choice. Of course, in this scenario it didn't help that she was incapacitated.

I just wish she would have gotten the surgical help, hat is seemed she needed, sooner. My sypathies go out to those who cared about her. I hope they know that it's not their fault they weren't able to 'cure' her.
