Definitely. Same for the other way around..if you tell them a task will be very hard they will go in without confidence and accept adequacy. Children have remarkably flexible brains that have endless possibility if they themselves don't think they are limited/gifted.
It does look like they figured in the strange skin pigmentation..just not to the extreme we're used to. Pretty neat..I've always been interested in historical/scientific recreations of historical faces who lived when there were no cameras around. If you want to complain about Africans breeding then push more programs that promote sex equality, birth control and family planning. Not many people are doing this. Bush sure as hell didn't help with his abstinence only funding.
Also, much of our past aid was turned into income for the most insane warlords the world has ever seen..a lot of them got away with it too as the Western world was very slow to realize what was going on (see the recent post on Neatorama) and look at North Korea.
We aren't hurting Africa by helping it..were hurting it by just throwing money at it, walking away and then wondering why the hell things aren't getting better. Africa is a huge ass diamond mine yet why is it such a poor continent? So many factors..way too simple an article.

I think most people here disagree with you Ted because nothing in the article implied she went in just to get victimized so she could file a lawsuit or whine about the hardships of being a minority (which actually exist no matter how much you want to accuse actual victims of actively searching out victimhood). Also, 'we all' aren't assuming the guard was white.
Yeah it's all power. But before I worked a minimum wage union job I had no idea how sleazy unions were. They were supposed to be why it's ok to work a low-wage job. But in most cases, at least in our recent economy, union fees are high compared to the protections they negotiate with the employer.
Example: Cashier for a large grocery? Be expected to get paid minimum wage, maybe 10 cents more, get very little hours, watch while management brings in a group of 10 or more people every month, see your hours go even lower, get no benefits of course (you don't work enough hours) and see your paychecks get hit with a $150 initiation fee. $150 for a person getting paid minimum wage and not getting enough hours to even think about getting health care on their own. Unions are lousy when they could be so much better. Oh, and this is Local 881.
While I agree that releasing the names would be disastrous..it's a bit disconcerting that we are all expected to be kept in the dark about the impending doom of a place that has our life savings until that doom has arrived. The relationship between banks and our govt is already super shady.
