Peeves 1's Comments

I went to PicoCool and have a hard time understanding why it's on a list with the likes of BoingBoing and Neatorama. It looks as if it adds a post every 2-6 days and most posts are very old news by the post date. It's cute though and I like the clean design..still, one post in the month of March?

2nd the man. There's no way I'd be able to send in anything that wasn't completely MS Word compatible which is how the vast majority of places want your resume.

Also, I think the 'man head' would be seen as highly unprofessional in non-design or creative fields. I love the second one though and will see how to reproduce it with MS borders.

And, if you're applying for entry level clerical work I have found it doesn't pay to be overly impressive. Chances are, the person interviewing you doesn't want to feel like you can/should replace them or will move on to bigger and better. I was once interviewing for a high paying assistant (clerical) position and one of the interviewers was a bit perturbed that I had a bachelors degree..no reason given. I was just asked to respond to 'I worry that you have a bachelors'. May be just my experience but be careful interviewing for jobs you know (and your resume shows) you can do in your sleep.

"Yes, the idea it’s all in his head doesn’t really add up - but it is television, after all :-)”

Well that just confirms that the fun isn't really there. Maybe you could suggest they make an actual 'it adds up' chart? That I'd be interested in.

Yes, of course you'd have to believe that everything in St. Elsewhere was a complete organic creation of his mind otherwise it wouldn't at all work.

It's an interesting project, just very flawed. I'm surprised it's even talked about on Wikipedia. Just looking at the 'Key' on the website it seems shows are on there just for spoofing the ending or coming at all close with dream sequences or fantasies (no other explanation was given). And if the common Morley cigarette prop came before the show the slew of shows there for featuring Morley cigarettes don't stand up. Of course, even if it was the first show to use it the fact that it's used to avoid issues with actual cigarette companies takes common sense precedent. I'd bet around 90% of the graph is too much of a stretch.

It's a bit of a stretch when 'The Wire' is one of the shows because someone mentions a 'Junior Bunk' who was a character on 'Homicide' but was also an actual criminal in Baltimore's history. I imagine there's other cracks to be discovered in this if other people were as dedicated as the creators of the 'Universe'.

Re: Shervin's translation

All that from milk consumption? Something has got to be really off with his glands and metabolism. And is it normal to feed a baby once every hour? (I'm not a mother)

Step 1: Be white.

Sorry it had to be said. This whole 'you can have anything if you simply work for it' has been a huge myth in our society that works for certain few. It's also been tested by many others in numerous ways, e.g. Morgan Spurlock. He and his partner lived in Ohio on minimum wage for his series '30 Days'..it was a horrible 30 days. I will say that these experiments are good at getting your name mentioned. If he gets a book or movie deal he will be a success but I doubt his experience will have anything interesting to reveal. There are countless homeless out there perfectly capable of labor whose stories are plenty and rarely ever told..and when they are they're horrific.
