The woman hit by the first monitor was holding the same spot on her head (another coworker also holds it) so I think she was actually injured. It may just be a set accident since the behavior of everyone is just strange (multiple cell phones, no one leaving, that injured woman walking back and forth and seriously interested in the man for way too long) but Russians just may do things differently.
I don't mind saying I'm dumber than a redneck because I do not 1. understand how Nascar even works as a sport and doesn't get reamed for the amazing waste of gas 2. understand how that contraption works.
@ Dave. Why would we assume they're suffering from deaths due to diseases that have probably not entered and spread throughout the Amazon? Or that introduction of outside sources won't just wipe them out? They seem to be doing fine since they exist and its 2008.
What is unethical about death? Death should not be a taboo..it'll happen to every single one of us. That inevitable reaction of fear or disgust or confusion will make the point that maybe we should think about it more before it happens to someone we love or ourselves. There's nothing inherently wrong with dying.
Reminds me of the artist that took pictures of people about to die (from illnesses like cancer mostly) and then a picture of them right after death. It was amazing: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/gallery/2008/mar/31/lifebeforedeath?picture=333325401
The 'overflight' was made on purpose to take pictures of the houses to prove the presence of the tribe, they claimed..but they must have known that their helicopter presence would make way more of an impact on the tribe than it would on people who viewed the photos..I'd like to hear if they at all thought about that from an anthropological point of view.
Oh come on, they weren't kicked. I knew someone would say that. Animals act like it's the last time they're going to eat EVERY time they're about to get fed..you've got to wonder about the psychology/instinct behind it. My cat acted the same way every morning for the 20 years she lived. She wasn't kitten crazy but she meowed and followed your every move when you were preparing her dish.
The Schappell sisters are insufferable. Have you seen their interviews? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bExMq2DVINM&eurl=http://onedatatime.typepad.com/dick_liker/2008/05/the-fear-of-bei.html
She gets her own office when the country has one of the worst problems with homeless/poverty of developed nations. Cant help but let that ruin my enjoyment of this article. Also the fact that it was pointed out several times that she outranks every female employee. Eesh.
Lovely government, way to do your job. The fact that they return to the store hours after arrest goes to show you police are useless against petty crime.
Clubs have bouncers who manhandle assholes on a regular basis, I'd recommend the shop owner do the same.
Seems like there's a lot of things being associated with OCD. I know there's a spectrum but I too hate unlevel things enough to adjust them regularly but I don't count it as OCD, more like a preference..also, avoiding touching surfaces to avoid germs is pretty standard. Someone who washes their hands a hundred times a day in scalding water? OCD.
It looks like it's be made out of hard paper/cardboard, which would be recyclable and I think the point is to protect your hands from hot beverages or burns from spills. Jesus get a grip people..this is a good and environment-friendly design.
