Someone explain to me at what point did Leonardo da Vinci become canon? With all the "I'm offended!"'s being thrown about, you'd think Jesus personally modeled for the painting and decreed that it be put upon every cover of the Bible.

If anything, the original painting portrays a "graven image" and is itself blasphemy, as well as the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Then again, I've never seen a religion more prone to cherry picking their holy texts than Christianity. Seriously, either admit that the writers of the Bible were fallible mortals or start stoning your disobedient children.

Not a joke, although with phrases like "Stress Status: Negative" and "Noble Cause line" I can see why it ended up on a subgenius site.

See here for context:

Compared to those monsters, Hoss and his business parts are somewhat sub par. ;)

I think it's a tragedy that the entire issue has become so politicized. Considering that 90% of the time, you can peg someone's political party (in the U.S. at least) by their stance on global warming (climate change, whatever).

What bothers me most about the anti-global warming crowd is that many of them use the evidence against it as a blanket excuse not to care about pollution and fire up the smokestacks. On the other hand, my biggest gripe with pro global warming types is sensationalism and general cluelessness in their arguments. I would almost hazard that those with a clue who could argue for global warming stay quiet in the fear they'll get lumped in with people like Sheryl "one square of toilet paper" Crow.

The description of "Del tha Funkee Homosapien" pretty much summed up what I think he was going for in the name.

Too bad they missed MC Paul Barman:

I kinda like the guy, but you can't deny his name and appearance are hilarious. :)

There's a spot in KY on Highway 231 in which you can see an actual branch of New Madrid as a seam in the rock where they blasted through the hill for the highway. What's really frightening is that there has been almost no preparation for a large scale quake in most of the risk zone, plus almost no structures are built to resist tremors. A big quake on the New Madrid will make what Katrina did to New Orleans look like nothing.

What's really depressing is that she'd have to use something like bittorrent to use even a fraction of that speed, considering the connections to most web sites aren't even comparable, or are capped per connection.

Only a google cache link, the original seems to have been removed (conspiracy!) :P

Through one of the links on that page, there is a link to this:

Which is pretty obvious.

Even this particular neatorama post seems contrived, particularly with the digg link and all. Viral marketing is a wonderful thing, you trick other people into promoting your product for free.

Er, that IS a robin. A European Robin to be exact. What veta is describing is an American Robin. Dennis Bright (not to mention the URL) is English after all. :P

Don't forget circumcision when you're talking about unjustified body alteration. Sorry, but in a culture where it's normal to brush one's teeth twice a day, I think most males can manage cleaning their bits now and then without surgical help.

Wow. "You people" that honestly think a colander attached to bungee cords could even remotely injure a squirrel have obviously not paid very much attention to squirrels in nature. A squirrel's tail is like a parachute, and you can even see in the video that the squirrel was already reorienting itself, much like a cat when it falls.

I also don't really understand uncooper's concern. Maybe that most people have mixed race ancestry of some sort? True, but our features are most influenced by our immediate parents and then with decreasing influence over preceding generations.
