Passengers should simply be packed into closed modules, with their luggage in an attached compartment, and then stacked into a big rack. This can be done before boarding, obviating the rush to board and get organized. Instead, racks of passengers, sorted by destination and connections, can be loaded into cargo transport-type aircraft in high density.
At the destination, racks can be offloaded and transported to connecting 'gates', to be loaded into the next leg of the journey. Those at their final destination can be moved into the terminal to be released.
In the unlikely event of a water landing, the module will, of course, float.

There's a temple in India where a bronze monkey statue has a hole in its head due to people rubbing it. Also, there's a statue of Juliet (of Romeo and Juliet) whose breast has been damaged by rubbing.

They completely miss the First white guy-ninja: James Bond in "You Only Live Twice." This was the first time I ever heard the term "ninja", and had no idea what it meant.

I've had my fill of zombies watching School-Live (Gakkou Gurashi). Um. the opening song and sequence are highly misleading. Watch it on Crunchyroll.com, and you'll get it.

While they are vulnerable, that's the time to spray the raft with soapy water (to disrupt the surface tension that lets them float)

I remember my dad getting takeout pizza and coming back with these tent bags.
Here's an article in The Atlantic about technological innovation and the pizza box.

The first time I read about a 'Voder' was in a story by Robert Heinlein, in which an alien used a Voder to speak to humans. I had no idea that such a device really existed!
OK, I looked it up. Here's the reference:
voder
1. Machine that Venerian dragons used to produce human speech.

Oh, man! They could really use to have a fuse or circuit breaker! Still, Scotty would just put a penny in the socket, to keep the ship running, and never replace it when they are in space dock.

I've always had a problem with the ships being so close together. Naval vessels can attack each other over the visual horizon (about 5 km, according to Wikipedia) with artillery. Starships should certainly be able to attack each other far beyond their visual range.

The "Behind Closed Ovens" feature appears every Monday at Kitchenette. It's one of my second-favorite websites (after Neatorama, of course)

1. The word is apparently pronounced "da-mey", or something like that. It is used as a negative response, like: "Would you like extra toxin with that blowfish?" ans: "Dame"
2. Hey! They have a cute (sorta) girls' version in a sailor suit motif!
