i'm not a fan of the laugh out loud cats. It seems like they tried to capitalized on 'lolcats' fame (I know they came first, but they were not nearly as popular).
Also, I don't find any of their comics that I've read in any way funny.
I was going to say... if for some reason a cop or some such came to know about (or suspect) such a lab, they'd probably think it was for making meth or crack or something and then come search your house and break/take your science stuff.
cancel your feed / stop visiting because of one silly post? Isn't that sort of a childish reaction - throwing a fit?
anyhow, (specifically @ Taluta) not all hoaxes have to be photoshoped. It could in fact be a person dressed weird on purpose, and got in front of the camera.
but in this case it seems bobbynotick was on the ball. :P
@FreakyPB - Well, a basic logic rule is that correlation does not imply causation. So that much is true. But as to your example, this study was done with people who called themselves optimists MANY years ago, so we know they were optimistic (or not) prior to their condition. (thus, the pessimists who died of cancer in this study were proven to be pessimists prior to getting the condition)
This is a bad idea for SO many reasons. How could they not see the flaws.
For instance, people don't walk that slow with little tiny baby steps. You'd practiaclly have to be watching your feet in 'reality' to make sure you aren't going to fast, which defeats the purpose.
In a mass distributed scenario (far off, I know), I garuntee people will injure themselves.
There are a lot of people out there who can't hear it. My boss couldn't. And half of my nearby coworkers could and the other half couldn't. As you might guess, the trend seemed to favor 'the younger' for hearing it.
Hear of this before a few year ago, and it made me wince. I can hear this one too, today (I'm 30), but it's not as painful as I recall. Perhaps its a different 'sharpness' recording.
Of course, there are bound to be exceptions, but the theory behind this is that as humans age, we lost the ability to percieve higher frequency noises. And some people are just better at it. Like, when you walk into a room and you can 'sense' a TV is on somewhere. That's just a high pitched noise that is barely registering.
Yeah, my state just gives you an unemployment check, or a direct deposit into the account of your choice. It treats unemploment deposits like any other kind of deposit, into a normal checking account.
Obviously the guy has money. Most people with a lot of money do stupid things with it, like buy paintings.
I'm very happy with this guy. Like cats or not, he's saving a lot of these animals from much worse fates they'd probably get in a kennel. He's almost like a modern St. Francis.
