@ SenorMysterioso - No. I would imagine shipping Tons of Racing Grannies as plausable, however.

I was just commenting on a trend I noticed. Almost everyone was talking about straws, but there was no pic of them.

As for what 'Alex was trying to do', unless he told you that, you don't know his intention. Personally, I don't believe he was being deceptive. Again, I was just curious why there was no straws pic when that's all people were talking about.

Emotional reactions and self-professed personal evaluations are not the way to counter a conducted study (and in fact lends credence to this particular one).

However, I do hope the study is wrong. As I've gotten older, I have suspected and feared as much.

I like how thisisit described a situation completely out of fiction, then called the people within that scenario 'typical' distainfully.

He/She was 'unpleasently not suprised' by the characters in his/her own invention. That's quite interesting!

(and no packpedaling with claims of 'joking' or 'sarcasm', just to save face.)

I was curious about the 'precious' or 'value' thing.

If the male neuron is more 'fragile' or dies quicker, doesn't that make *it* more 'precious'?

As for longer living - that makes them more durable, but not more 'valuable'. For example, steel is more durable that gold. You see where I'm going with that..

If value is based on *rarity* however.... lol...

Dana's brother invented nothing, according to the source. He engineered a prototype.

from the cited wikipedia article "The Video Toaster was designed by NewTek founder Tim Jenison in Topeka, Kansas. Engineer Brad Carvey (brother of American actor/comedian Dana Carvey) built the first wire wrap prototype,"

So Tim *invented* it.

i was going to comment on "although slowly deteriorating".

Specifically : ?!?!?!

Is something crazy happening all of a sudden?

(Even if we polluted 'like there was no tomorrow', it wouldn't cause the earth to deteriorate. Just make it hard for the current flora and fauna - including humans of course - to live in.)
