I have a 4-year-old Maine Coon cat who absolutely loves to hug necks and lick faces. And then he flips himself over so he's in your arms like a baby. That's your cue to rub his belly while he sleeps.

Yep, we both get an endorphin boost from it.

We've all seen (endured?) Powerpoint slides this bad or worse. I'm surprised PPT doesn't have a built-in widget that'd prevent some of the worst mistakes.

What Maleia said! The hurricane thing reminds me of Katrina in that New Orleans (big tourist city) got all the attention and funding, but several little towns on the Gulf coast were completely obliterated -- and got no attention.

Every place, no matter how small, is somebody's home.

I don't think Neatorama's "publicizing" this hypothetical crap can as much a they are giving us fodder for commentary.

Like Cosmo's BS car, for example. Sounds great in theory, but what about the emissions?

Coldfish, you sound so let down and that gives me a sad. I just returned to taking college courses (after a 20-year absence) and I'm lovin' it -- even though quite of few of my classmates are 20-somethings who are used to a "teach to the test" mentality and only bother to show up until the Financial Aid check clears.

Be choosy about your teachers. I had a great one last semester who did an excellent job in showing the "big picture" -- what was going on globally that caused a chain reaction of events that resulted in X happening in the US. Or how one industry can turn into a financial juggernaut that's suddenly got more political influence than it should -- and gets away with it. I could go on, but you get the point.

Being an intelligent slacker is cool in your 20s, but after that? You're just the guy/gal who never got his/her shite together.

Splint, I used to play D&D with teenage boys like that. "We don't belong in this century. We should have been born into the time of paladins and rangers, because that's really who we are. We're throwbacks!"

Pfft. Mostly it was young guys too lazy to do anything except smoke pot and play games, much less contribute to the upkeep of a household.

I'm guessing this "How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse" link gets way more hits than "How to prevent an unwanted pregnancy" or "How to protect yourself from an STD."
