Toys exist in part to teach kids about the real world in ways that are more accessible to them. To blunt all the edges means to lower the effectiveness of that teaching. They do need to be age appropriate, but if you don't learn about the dangers of the world in the protected environment of the home, you WILL learn about them elsewhere and probably with worse consequences.

There's a rather large community of train simulation geeks...just peruse the simulation list in steam sometime...I would imagine playing with a street sweeper wouldn't be a whole lot less stimulating that cruising along in a train...

Personally I think it's pretty funny...of course my dog would prolly bite my hand off if I tried to do that to him...

Blah blah blah...y'all evidently have forgotten what it's like to be a child...fantasy is perfectly acceptable and you will NOT resent the fact that your parents fed said fantasies...

The whole pants thing devolved from prisons where uniforms were given out that were too big...and tended to sag...which then got picked up by kids on the street trying to look tough...But what's funny is it then went back into the prisons where you can easily get pants that fit...so art imitating life imitating art...

"Always willing to kill babies but not our enemies"

Um...you do realize that bombing campaigns in civilian areas kill children in large quantities right? Like in every war we've participated in? Then there's land mines, depleted uranium rounds, breakdown of civil order, etc etc.

Surely the most effective form of child killing is modern warfare.

Sunflowers always remind me of the Larry Niven book about ringworld where there were these vast fields of mechanical sunflowers whose blossoms were mirrors...and they'd focus the sun's rays on whatever flew overhead to shoot it down...
