I've been watching Rail Wars. It's OK, but I find nothing to really write home about. Seems to be a bit slow with no overall conflict to tie everything together.

I loved Girls und Panzer! The models were fantastic. If you haven't heard of it, check out Arpeggio of Blue Steel, which uses WWII submarines in a sci-fi setting. And for more WWII goodness, KanColle is a card-based (WWII) fleet game that is getting an anime sometime next year. I've not played that game, but if it gets licensed in the US, I'm sure I'll watch it.

And to throw some titles into the mix:

Sabagebu is currently airing. Bunch of girls join a high-school survival club, using some nicely modeled Airsoft guns. It's hilarious.

Mitsudomoe is an older series. Can you laugh at potty humor, double ententes, situations taken out of context, with a dose of deliberate perversion? No matter how cute the visuals may may look, this is definitely not for children.

Kobato is also older. Not a comedy, but a supernatural romance. I found the anime so beautiful, I ordered (all 6) of the (translated) manga volumes from Amazon.

I stopped watching after 60 seconds. Over the years of listening to promises that will "change our world", one thing I've learned is that the truly world-changing technologies are not "mind-blowing". The true game changers are those which appear with a whimper and have a gradual acceptance rate until they reach saturation, at which point people can't imagine life without it.

Electricity and the telephone are two obvious examples.

In 2000, the Internet was quite different than it is now, but it was not considered a vehicle for social change in those early days. Smartphones existed prior to 2007; they were called something else (PDAs with Internet and phone, such as the Palm), but it took force once someone was able to combine already existing technologies into a unified platform.

Those technologies hyped as the great solution to everything ultimately failed, or simply never reached fruition. Atomic energy. Heck, anyone remember the Segway?

Not to be a Negative Nelly, but I've learned to take these kind of pronouncements with a grain of salt.

The first thing I noticed, even before the text, was the opening picture, and I said "That's the New Zoo Revue!". I watched it probably in the early 80s, when I was already a teenager, so I suspect I was older than the supposed target audience. Never really thought it being horrifying, just bizarre, which is probably why I liked it. I guess growing up on Sid and Marty Krofft shows gave me a bit of immunity...

I've had dragon fruit. It was very light and delicate, not too sweet, but still very good. Somewhat expensive, $5 for something that was less than a pound. Don't know if that was just the local supermarket gouging prices, but if I found it cheaper, I'd probably have more.

Not sure if it counts, but I've also had durian. Since you can't find it fresh where I live, it was frozen. To be honest, not sure what to make of it. It did smell funny, and the taste wasn't easily comparable to anything else, so I would rather not make such a quick judgement. I've talked to friends in Malaysia and Singapore, and even there it seems to be something of a love/hate.

I once got Cindi Lauper's autograph. Back in the 80s when she was fresh and new. It was the back of a matchbook cover. Long since lost...

There's a semi-abandoned insane asylum near me called Greystone Park. Semi-abandoned in that the facility erected new buildings and various other upgrades, but the original building still stands waiting for demolition. The local government who I work for actually owns that property, which makes me wonder if there's some way I can scheme my way inside the building.

Spice and Wolf is probably near the top of my absolute favorite list. Holo... rawr. Or should I saw aroo in her case?

I'm also watching One Week's Friends, and liking it very much.

Here's a few to add to your probably endless list:

Chaika the Coffin Princess. Currently being broadcast. Who can resist a goth loli hauling a BFG?

Black Bullet. People on Crunchyroll are criticizing this as being too fast-paced, but seriously, I'd rather non-stop action than endless filler.

For older series I'm catching up on:

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. The name is misleading, as it is a sweet and often heartbreaking romance, but I find it done differently than the run-of-the-mill romances.

The Hentai Prince. Another good romance with a bit more humor in it.

If you liked Sakura Trick (and liked either Lucky Star or Nichijou (My Ordinary Life), watch Yuri Yuri. If you've not seen either of those, then do so.

I periodically get migraines, altho typically less than one a month. I looked at the source link, but of them all, I completely relate to the second image you posted here (the guy in bed).

I am very close to Northlandz, probably ~30 miles. We went to see it but it must have been more than 10 years ago. At that time, there were a lot displays in non-working condition. They also had (another non-working) pipe organ; it's been too many years, but I think it was a theater organ. It was still worth the trip.
