Evilbeagle, I don't understand your contention. Nutritionally, a big sugary soda is worse than a diet one. One bad choice (large fries) does not mean one should make another (sugary soda).

Count me crazy(or is it angry?), because I agree with Mad Max. Dogs can be trained to detect cancer, but they haven't got xray vision. Not yet, anyway.

Alex, I expect better posts than this. I confess I eat at McD's often, mostly at lunch because I like to leave work and walk. I am not obese, stupid or poor. I am in excellent health and exercise regularly. I appreciate a good bargain and make sensible choices like avoiding fries, sugary sodas, and the big sandwiches. They are a lot cleaner than most inexpensive restaurants. I see them cleaning constantly. I have no financial interest in McD's. Food snobs say we should all eat locally grown fresh food prepared at home, but not everyone can afford to do that. McD's fills a role in our society. If you don't like it don't eat there.

Maybe she got the idea from the Simpsons. Apu and Manjula had octuplets and it was very funny.

"I can't believe you brought banana bread!" "The woman with one baby had time to make banana bread!"

I've spent five nights in the Maryland Science Center as the father of two Girl Scouts. We just laid out our sleeping pads and bags among the exhibits. After they finally turned off the lights and endless narrations I slept very well, but the scouts said I snored all night!

He pulled out both eyeballs, on different occasions. After the first time the judge thought he was fit to stand trial. He should have been locked up forever for his and other's safety. We don't execute the mentally ill. That said, if one faced life in prison (or execution), I think that losing ones vision wouldn't be too bad. I'm serious. You might prefer not seeing your surroundings. I guess closing your eyes would work too...

Opened my pen/pointer/light/stylus today. I'm sure Alex appreciates feedback both positive and negative, but it was a MYSTERY sale so you shouldn't complain too much if you don't like what you got. Maybe you'll get a Tesla roadster next year! I'll take any color. No Segways, please.

B batteries were used to power portable vacuum tube radios. There were several sizes and voltages and some are still available. They range from 22.5 to 90 volts. The "B" is a functional description, not a size standard. The A cell was for the filaments and some radios used the C cell for grid bias. Technically, a battery is a group of cells in series, but only engineers seem to care.

I went on a college tour for parents of prospective students. There was a tree with many dozens of shoes in it. The student leading the tour explained that each pair commemorates a "first time sexual encounter".
