what about the guy on another team who went down on one knee and looked to heaven? (yesterday too). that could be considered offensive by MANY, to bring religion into it... but a snow angel is somehow worse?! sure they have to curtail it otherwise it gets out of hand, but a snow angel? in the snow?!

Havana, Moscow - same problem - tons of homeless dogs - in Moscow they go down into the subway to stay warm, end up sleeping in the cars... the city is MASSIVE and when they wake up and get off the train, there's little chance they'll find their buddies again - it's a lonely life. anyone who says this was cannibalism is an idiot. and humping? you people are fools - s/he's dragging it to safety.

well, it WAS the University of BC in Vancouver that was studying (in the late 80's) the genetic modification of this plant (under the auspices of cancer pain therapy research, I believe), when there came about leaks of this enhanced dope to the street. My introduction to it was called Kimo (as in Chemotherapy), I got it from the guy worked next door in the antique shop - he was always worried about distributing it because none of us had ever had anything this potent, and he was one degree of separation from the Uni... within five years BC Bud was a world wide phenom. So, research done.
seriously though - could those seeds grow after so long?
and who was blue-eyes? some shaman?

i remember they had some research some years back - it takes about 8 minutes (i think that was it) for most people to make the psychological leap and believe they are IN that other reality - maybe it's less now that the quality has improved?

i think the reason that people dislike REAL fruitcake is because they are introduced to it as children, and it is usually booze-soaked... most kids can't put the dried fruit and rum flavors together - at least that's my excuse - in my locale, there is lots of British Isles descendants, and it's an Xmas fave... as an adult i was re-introduced to it and can say that there are some that ROCK, and others that SUCK - it's up to the ingredients and the baker, like everything else - don't knock it til you've tried a real one

this pie, like Apple's recent philosophical blunders, is half-baked:
no firewire ports in standard laptops, dumbed-down versions of imovie and FCexpress mean I'm supposed to buy more expensive software AND hardware...
and what about those AMAZING 'apps' for the iPhone - when I see those ads on tv, i think for certain that if this is what the almighty Apple offers as 'entertainment'? or whatever that sh*t is for, then we are doomed to have stoooooooopider humans. Apple needs to eat some Humble pie and get with the program

I like the idea of crowd-sourcing the selection of what gets made...
in 1993 I wrote a kid's movie (action adventure with cgi) that was part fantasy and involved the 'saving' of the Monarch butterflies"... it was tech-forward at the time, tech toys, the kids made cd-rom presentation for the school (pre-internet days)
everyone who read it said it felt like they could 'see' the whole thing (and these are H-wood'ers with experience in script reading) and my Mom STILL cannot believe it didn't get made...
the problems are multitude - you need to have the RIGHT literary agent read and like it AND be ready to act on it (and if you are not published that can be VERY tough to find), and the right actors' agents looking for a vehicle, and the right studio ready to go that way... etc. and if it isn't coordinated by a bolt of luck/lightning, then it goes into the vault with TONS of others...
the system is too huge - if it's not the rights to a popular book, or someone with power is not attached, forget it - and there are LOTS of stories of H-wood big hitters not getting anywhere with good projects...
there is more luck to it than talent
I could tweak my script toward more present day technology, and make the kids more cynical, and it would still work... but they say you don't flog a dead horse...

I agree with Nat and most posters: "the scientists NEED to pour cement to find out ..." he talks like if we don't soon get this figured out, all hell could break loose
- way too much $ is spent by "scientists" (like that term deserves us all to fall to our knees in praise of them) who "study" things for what?! the betterment of what ? we can't even run our own "colonies" (note the recent fiasco/global-lie being uncovered with these bailouts), so what purpose is served by digging up the ant hill - so there's ducts to ventilate... great - move on to ventilating the growing financial crisis where NO ONE seems to know what is going on, how to quell it, or when it will go away... meanwhile, I see NO change in behavior - the malls are FULL of people running around like Ants.
