I can't fathom any job on the Turk that would make it a sweatshop. I can't imagine anyone being coerced into relying on the Turk to make a living (either through force or lack of other options).

While I like most of selections, I was hoping the MMO game EVE: Online would be mentioned. I've heard of many large Ponzi schemes being run there and they stand out being entirely in a virtual world/economy.

The third to last paragraph in the article explains it. She was pulled out of the car and left next to it (.i.e the car was not dangerous).

Of course it will probably be hard to prove that the spinal cord injury was caused by being pulled out the car and not by the crash itself. (Luckily she's suing the driver as well)

I am unhappy to see that his marine status was exploited, when the death was unrelated to the marines.

If it was co-signed, doesn't the co-signer owe the $53k? Isn't that the point of the co-signer?

Only one out of three lenders is seeking money, and that comes to $53k. How much did he borrow in total? What college is that expensive?
