here in Ukraine- hospital soup is served out of a metal pail... and it looks like pig slop. Most people have a brigade of family members and friends who pitch in to bring food to hospitalized people.

stupid jerks. Some people just have a special talent for being complete losers. And how stupid do you have to be to make a video of something like that and put it on YouTube?

My brother worked at another Pizza chain for awhile as a delivery driver. The stuff that went on in the back there was pretty sick, too. I think I'll stick to my own cooking, thanks. Sick excuses for human beings...

Sounds good. I'm not going away just yet. I love Neatorama... and since I commented on the post mentioned above, just thought I'd stop and smile here :)

I'm not enjoying the queuebot much either. There's just too much stuff to dig through. I'd prefer quite a lot less posts but of interesting stuff- like the Neatorama I got hooked on!

I've not had any of the things on this list- but I had one thing that just got to me... and it seems mild in comparison to this stuff. We were guests at some Ukrainian friends'; they'd butchered a cow not long before that and saved the 'best' part for us... the udder. I think it was first boiled and then fried. Had a texture like organ meat but flavor was not quite like that.

Honestly, I don't know how you'd get the stuff in the post above down the hatch... I nearly got sick looking at some of the pix!

what, after all, did they do before they had guns? and what does this have to do with the right to bear arms in other places? because that's where it's going to go... (at least it looks like it to me)

@ an outsider
yours is the only line of thought so far that makes the bailout sound compelling to me...
I confess (like others have) that I don't understand things well enough to truly 'get it'. But it still just plain makes me mad to think about it... and- I can only speak for myself, but I actually happen to be an American who has never lived beyond my means, has never over-extended on credit, has kept things under control (that's the way Dad and Mom brought us up and we all live like that, incidentally). So, I do feel justifiably angry over this situation...
The recent news that WaMu's 17-day CEO Alan H Fishman is eligible for $19.1 million in compensation is galling, to say the least. One could hope he has enough decency in him to refuse it... but he would hardly be where he is if he did, would he? The whole thing makes me sick... and I think we have a right to feel this way.

still interested in translation? I can do some of it, although I'm not a native speaker and some of it is not in my realm. Here goes.
Post title: Toys?
comments:
-super toys
-and the right up is also pretty good
-cut off the head of anyone who calls them toys. this is nothing less than 'artistic miniatures'
-true, in fact very high quality
-classy. if you're not opposed, I'll post a link
-not against. I don't get worked up over that.
-ok
(from here it's going to get more general, since there are phrases I'm not 100% about)
-I noticed they really like to do Germans
-Japanese? (they) simply love it. it's purely esthetic, however-- photogenic even. but if there's a nationality of pure visualists, it's the Japanese.
-yes, but in general, not just the Japanese... as someone who's very much interested in model figures, I can say that in [BBT- don't know what this is] and aviation, percentage of Germans is quite high, not to mention in miniatures and dioramas. as far as ships, [they haven't reached the same level in number of vessels as the Japanese, Americans and English]
-it's notable among the Japanese. but these photos are from some Japanese model convention- notice the labels. as I said, everything they do is esthetic.
-yes, what they do as far as models go, that's so. I'm talking about something different altogether- about the fact that the '3rd Reich' theme is very popular
-that's what I'm talking about- they look cool. They've even managed to shoot the Jews in a stylish way.
-yes, these dioramas have affected me greatly.
-esthetics, [?]
-it's just that you've not seen many kits (many displays??). I, having seen similar ones and also on the theme of the arab wars and the theme of [VMV??] I'm used to it. Dioramas with unhit T-34 or KV- there are very few of them. Interesting that dioramas with Is-2 that have been hit don't exist at all. And Soviet aviation as a class is missing.
-a question in regard to 'person in general interested in model figures'- what do you collect? I'm not just being nosy, I mean for what purpose?

this is too long for the comments- is there a way to get in touch with you? are you interested in the rest?

Without reading the comments above mine, I'll tell you why I voted No.

What do we learn from a bail-out? Go ahead, live beyond your means, make stupid choices- someone will be around to pick up the pieces to save you. I believe that doing this means that we as a nation of people will be less and less able to function, to survive, to live smart. Yes, this melt-down hurts. Yes, it means that there will be tough times ahead. Yes, many will suffer. But swooping in to save the situation only fosters the stupid kind of thinking and actions that led to this situation to begin with.

A non-US citizen just said to me: The wonderful thing about the American economy and government is it is self-cleansing. These times are painful but keep the economy healthy longterm.

So, does this bailout engender economic health longterm? I think not.

I might be wrong. I'd love to be wrong. I'll wait and see, since it seems inevitable that the bailout will happen.

I voted Obama because I really think he'll win... (I'm tired of Republican politics, that's for sure.)

I'm not too sure this will be the great thing it seemed to be when he was roaring through the primaries- is it just me or has Obama lost his zip lately? Also, can he really deliver? Can anyone? Is he more than a great orator and personality?

I liked McCain's statement a couple weeks ago that he'd have a bipartisan cabinet... but would he? Could he? Would the fighting ever end? I've always been a McCain fan but he's somehow not adding up to my expectations since he's actually finally managed to get the nomination. AND- he's been totally overshadowed by Palin...

Someone more real than Dumbledore proly said this first (in other words, JK Rowling proly borrowed it but I wouldn't know from whom)- proly the only people who are really fit to lead others are so scared of it that they refuse to. (that's a bad paraphrase)

I'm sending this to my dad The Dairy Farmer... he's going to wet his pants laughing. He's retired now- but never had to do anything like this to get top results... oh hahahaha- I'm totally dying here.
