I caught scabies from trying on clothes at a store. At least, that is what the doctor and I concluded. I thought that it might be okay to try on because it was in a seemingly unopened package.

Nevertheless, one of my very first jobs while in college was as a 'fitting-room checker' at a major upscale department store. Fairly frequently, I would come upon merchandise that was smeared with feces, or semen, and the tailor's helper would clean them off and then back to the rack. Returned merchandise was also given a quick once over and then back to the selling floor.

Also, that bathing suit you just bought? It seemed to me that most people tried on a bathing suit while naked. Pervs would try on dozens of Speedos and strut about, and then drop the suit to the floor. Boxers were also tried on by the gross, and some guys would stand in front of the public mirror, stripping off and putting on the next one.

If you are not washing the clothes that you buy, welcome to everything another person can excrete, emit, ooze, flake, and shed.

"This area is filled with trash on the sidewalks, people sleeping everywhere, and an abundance of shopping carts...

"I took it upon myself to take a shopping cart and make a statement with it."

Ugly in, ugly out. But interesting at least.

Pretty cool indeed.

The Mars Desert Research Station is perfect for training astronauts and cosmonauts and stellarnauts of all kinds. Except for the gravity, the air, the moisture, the nearby help, the warmth, and the lack of deadly solar radiation, it is exactly like Mars.

Rape is an abhorrent crime. In my opinion, rapists should be physically castrated, but there are those cases in which a convicted rapist has turned out to be innocent. In these cases they are exonerated through DNA analysis, or the victim made a mistaken identification (victim ID of the rapist being notoriously unreliable).

This device is certain to enrage a rapist, and result in the victim's death. The victim would be better off carrying a gun and being properly trained in its use.

AS for blaming the victim in rape cases, while there can be no excuse for the rapist, it must be remembered that not all rape is a crime of power or violence only. It can also be a crime of opportunity, and the victim can--sometimes--"precipitate" their own victimization. Being in the wrong place such as a dark alley, wandering off drunk with a group of men, and so on. Victim precipitation, is, of course, a controversial subject because it is deemed politically incorrect, but its reality cannot be ignored. If the victim does not consent, it is rape, though the victim is not entirely blameless. This is true of many crimes: the victim, and they are indeed a victim, helps to precipitate the crime. Likewise, the myth of date rape drugs tends to place the entire fault of the rape on the male. However, in almost every date rape drug case, it turns out that the victim was drunk and consented to something she regretted when later sober.

I expected a lot from "Woher die Kinder kommen aus (where babies come from)", but they didn't show the placenta slipping out. The baby does look happy though, and slime free.

This is really great news! By 2100, the Earth's human population may reach 50-100 billion. If humans can be engineered to make their own food like these sea slugs have done naturally, more land can be devoted to housing and less to agriculture. (Also, we can avoid the horror of Soylent Green, though people may want that anyway for the taste.) Perhaps huge crowds of people can be simply housed under huge transparent tarps and soak up some nutritious rays!

Jury commissioners are selected for the position only if they can demonstrate both profound cruelty as well as stupidity. I see it everyday:

Judge: Why did you bring your baby to court?
Woman: I told the JC I had a baby and no childcare but he didn't listen.

Judge: Officer, why are you here?
Cop: The JC said that only you could excuse me. The County is paying me OT to be here.

Judge: Cat, why are you here?
Cat: Meow?
