I find this ad more disturbing in its use of the female body than anything else. I can't see how it would make anyone want to go to Australia so much as ogle a pretty woman in a bikini.

I got the impression from this post that you expect that readers weren't aware that this scene is from Battleship Potemkin or had seen the film. I wonder if this is news to many readers? It's an interesting film from the point of view of an important part of soviet film history at least. So, have you all seen it?

I found the sound effects too irritating to enjoy this at all.

My surname is most common in France and Switzerland (of the countries listed). It's an arab name so I'm guessing if more arab countries were included I'd get very different results.

I love Beakman's world :D But there's something wrong with the quiz for me (as with all the Mental Floss quizzes) it's showing different answers to the ones I chose. Anyhoo, I used to watch Beakman's World on TCC back in the day. Lester was my favourite.

@Camilla, as you have a degree in graphic design I assume you are a competent artist. Even without your degree you are an artist and it's probably for this which you were hired. Afterall, most companies look at your portfolio first. This kid isn't an artist.

How is he supposed to cross over from testing games to making them? If he couldn't stick with school, I doubt he'd have the commitment to put together a portfolio. Maybe I'm underestimating him....
