@Miss Cellania- You're completely correct- With this instrument, our kids torture us in having to clean up the mess they make with it if they use it indoors just as they done at my place...

This is amazing. Incredible that those tissues could survive for so many eons...! They not only get more insight into evolution of the animals, but also into the development actual fabric of living animals- Have those tissues really always been the same, or has that changed too? And if it hasn't changed very much over all those millions of years, it must in some sence be amazingly perfect. How come? What is so special that that structure survived so unchanged for all that time? And if you see how those tissues are composed, they should also tell about the levels of oxigen in the air, about the general compositiion of the atmosphere at that time.

Exiting- They truly could make a quantum-leap in gaining knowledge of that period in planetary history.

@Jae- I wonder about that. In German they have the expression "Weltschmerz"- Something like "Worldhurt". Lots of Goths that I know to more or less extent have a Dark version of this- the Emo's most. And they somehow feel that their Goth-attire represents this the best. Attention...? Perhaps some of them yes, but by far not all of them-
Let's put it this way- I am a Punk. Of course I like some of the attention that I get, because because of how I look, I get wonderful contacts with folks I normally never would have any contact with. But definitely not all of it, because I get attacked verbally and physically far more than I like. I don't like fighting. I only want to be like I feel I am and I want to be left more or less alone like I do with all those other freaks (Included the business-suits and Design-clothing addicts and all those others) alike. That has very little to do with being a sad attention whore. ...Okay, perhaps if you want to call folks that stand out in the crowd like that, you should also label the ones that do not stand out something like sad examples of people who dare never to stick with their heads above any crowd. Rest assured that is not what I think, but it would even out things a bit.

@Gauldar- Hey I know that shirt! Last summer some girl even got me searching for that same text she assured me was there if I looked long enough. And you're correct about the tattoo's but wrong about the mice- I like live and screaming virgins for breakfast. ...At least- that is what my overly normal and grey neighbors seem to think...

@Jmanna- Where? I do some occasional Viking-reƫnactment. :-)

Suuuure Gauldar! I myself am a Punk- I go clad in heavily spiked graffitied black leather and old military attire- The more layers I wear, the less problems with heat I have... :-D

No- some older folks around where I live still see sneakers, bluejeans and t-shirt als cultural fad that eventually will fade away, just as these Goths will.

Why when we want to depict Christian religion, does the cross and the thorns on the head have all the attention...?

If the priests or sjamans of this religion were women, they could also very well have made these all bums and breasts sculptures.

In some African cultures it is still very sexy and desirable to be very fat and visibly Fertile.

"Meh, I roll my eyes at all cultural fads and never did have a connection to any of them." ...He said, wearing sneakers, bluejeans and t-shirt like all those other Westerners... ;-)

The Eurovision Songfestival is Camp, Fake, Bizarre, a thing on its own that seems to exist outside the dimensions and reality of life itself. At one time it was created to encourage cultural unity in Europe, but it has grown straight outside European culture. It does not represent Europe- Okay- if you think Europe is weird, then it does represent Europe. But it even has contestants from outside Europe and it is also seen outside europe. So why they call it Euro - vision is beyond me. It is viewed by lots of people, yet it has a kind of songs and a form of presentation that you will see nowhere else.

Peace- Frieden Shalom Paix and we all go to liev toegether in funny costumes laaalala!

I'm telling you NO IT IS NOT mine....!!!
It is my little kid's- He's used it on several occasions to ruin not only our furniture with fountains of all too sticky coke, but also at the homes of some of his friends...

...I don't need one... He said smiling.... AHEM...

Some time ago I've seen Gunung Merapi and some other Indonesian volcanoes and Vesuvius in Italy. The Indonesian ones were at the time that I saw them, gently speaking giants, with burps of gas and some fire, lava and rumbles. Vesuvius was just breathing a bit and raising its flanks a bit and smelling bad in some places.

But even in those states, they put the Absolute Fear of Mother Earth into me.

Gauldar is right- I take out my bow and arrow to use them in the wrong playfield, let alone the target... But I get triggered where I read the information.

I beg forgiveness.

I get somewhat heated up if I read lines like "...70,000 years ago required more intelligence than archaeologists normally attribute to Stone Age men" or "It was mentally taxing work that would have required humans to account for differences in the chemistry of gum harvested from different trees and in the iron content of ochre from different sites".

I've had discussions with lots of traditional-lined archeologists and scientists who still seem convinced that the mere fact that humans lived in the stone age also meant that they therefore could not have equal intelligence capacities to us. Yet after some personal experiences with reƫnactment and experimental archeology, I am firmly convinced that since those ... roughly 150.000 years ago, have not even gained grains more intelligence. We humans from today are just as intelligent as those stonetool makers from then. They were just as intelligent as us. And this glue is just a point in case. And they dearly needed to use that intelligence to survive in a very dangerous world. Intelligence seemed to be their main tool of survival. The only difference is that we by now after all those years as a whole of humanity accumulated far more little bits of how to do and how to make things and our effictiveness in communicating that information. And that makes that nowadays we live in materialistically highly complicated structures and surroundings. That is not more intelligence- that is accumulation and heritage.

But I'll submit these post also in some different places, where they are more appropriate. :-)
