$364,900,- to keep your virginity intact...? ...A bargain I should say!
Then again- If you already have a spaceport, take time to surf the internet for some nice Y-wing pic's, do some drawing and measuring and if you buy about $100,- worth plywood, plastic tubes, 2 domed dustbins and some paint and acryllic glass and you put ...say about one day's time of work in it, you could get your own Y-Wing much cheaper. :-)
After reviewing this case again, I think the Chinese government has every reason to get nervous- This dude is not the first one by a long shot and he certainly won't be the last that builds something to lift off the face of this planet. Especially the Chinese always have been incredibly good at inventing stuff and using it as if it were nothing. Before you know it, every Chinese who ever tinkered with the Chinese equivalents of Lego or Meccano and who has seen even one single picture of the inner works of aircraft, builds one behind the chickens and tries to take off. And if only 10% of 1 billion(?) Chinese do that... Well, immagine the mess that Chinese traffic-control faces then...
7 out of 12. But then again I don't know squat about golf. And I was only allowed by my parends to see the Apollo 11 moonlanding and the nr 13 when that one went wrong. Oh and the 15 because my dad wanted his son to see the first car on the moon. All the others were during my youthly bedtime in a black and white tv era when there wasn't anything like vcr's yet.
...But this contraption and the way it has been put together with the hybrid power and such looks like it has been concocted in some university-project. And as they say- modern diesel-engines are doing quite well these days.
By the looks of it, I'd say this is a half-way solution that will be used for some little time and then be surpassed left and right by more sophisticated or simpler solutions.
Yep- This is a typical case of deliberate looking for over-engeneering without any real reason other than that some seeing designer thinks there is a problem that in fact never has existed.
Even seeing people can easily learn to leave the light out when they go to the kitchen in the middel of the night to poor in a glass of water or milk. Just by sound and weightdistribution.
But hey nowadays if you can't stick a battery in something- it really is soooooo 2000-and-Late.....
Funny to see that in our society weaponry and violence on its own or combined with anything ordinary can be advertised and spoken of openly, without any shame or age-rating.
Yet if it is sexual or erotic by any means, it is shamefully ignored, hushed up, put behind X-es and age-rates.
Now what does that tell us and outsiders about our friendly peaceloving non-agressive society................
It is some hours ago that the filter said Oops, so I guess somehow my last comment didn't get through. Never mind- I try again.
For those who think the B2 and its stealthy brethren can get through unseen at any time: The Dutch company Thales produces a radar-system that can see these stealths without effort. Several Western armies have this system in use or wil use it in the next coming years. I bet that this radar or the way it works is very high on the wishlist of countires that are not allied with the US...
Ordenance like the Mob has it's place and function in any army. If you have such a working weapon, the way you use it is by announcing very loudly that you have it and you show what you believe it can do. Preferably you exaggerate the effects a bit for theatrical drama. This puts your adversary in a difficult position, because he or she will have to think hard about how to react: Comply or ignore and step up defence. Any defence will cost a Bundle, so any way this new piece of harware will cause extra spending with the other team if it seriously wants to counter any threat. It can tighten it's airdefence at great cost, or it can try to harden it's shelters and dig even deeper under ground, all it great cost and without any assurance that the beefed up defence will at all work.
If you actually would use such weapon, you would do so because you were convinced that diplomacy has failed and more confvincing arguments are needed. But that effectively means that you will have declared war on some level. If you use this weapon, you can use it in the opening-blows of the conflict. But then most likely you will have to defend yourself when the attacked party retalliates. More likely you will use this weapon during the first stages of an all out attack, by swamping the other party with drones, decoys, missiles, lots of airplanes- just to confuse the airdefence of the other party. There still is no airdefence that can cope with swamping- Even the US-airdefence gets overrun on a regular bases in excercises- Sure most attackers will be caught in the end, but always some slip through and reach their designated targets if the wave of attackers is big enough and comes from as many directions as possible.
So to have such bombs is useful and no way can some defender stop effective use if the user of that big bomb has enough stuff to launch at the same time. This has been shown every war from WW1 on and most graphically in the last Gulf-wars.
He wasn't all that agressive. The main reason why Da Vinci made so many drawings for weapons was because in those days his art didn't always sell that well. And because the Masters with the Cash mostly were doing battle (most of the citystates had wars with eachother), it completely made sence to advertise knowledge of how to make incredible invincible superweapons that could inspire fear into the opponent and give the user status, glory and an edge in battle.

Now I have the ultimate reason to finally learn Japanese as I have wanted for years but never started.
I go to Mars and the outer planets every night in my Dreamship...!
Imagine you could grow the frame of a house like that...?
Never mind- I try again.
