But.... if civilization falls, why do they think these slabs won't be destroyed too? Are they immune to nuclear blasts? (ha!)
If there's an apocolypse or whatever, the remnants left behind in tons of things will be useful (anything carved onto heavy buildings, etc), so is this one obilesk necessary, which it has just as much chance of being destroyed as other things? (unless they plan on making tons of these things all over the place).
It also kind of makes me wonder if other 'ancient artifacts' that we've found are also written in multiple languages. (I guess the rosetta stone was).
Are you really sure that's what's going to happen to the glowpuppies? The experiment done to them was done before they were born, when they were just a small lump of cells. I doubt they felt anything then.
And I see no reason why, after being born, they would not be allowed to live a normal dog life, perhaps given to the scienctists or family/friends, etc..
Water is an amazing substance. Its one of the few things that is less dense as a solid than as a liquid (which, in the physics world, is pretty cool). and it bonds with almost anything (which is why it's so good at cleaning things).
However, if you think water may be angry at you... well... I just don't know what to say about that. :P
It was cute. But I suspect the behavior be somehow connected with the mindset of 'give me what I want'. I know of many domestic cats that fall prone like that if they want human attention, or food from the human (a sort of begging - they seem to know that falling over and acting cute makes humans happy). So perhaps once the stalking didn't work and it flew away, the cat's brain initiated the fall-over as sort of a 'but I want it!' kind of thing.
I agree, Dru. I'll think the original girl is more attractive, too, so I don't know what the prank's angle is (orher that people not being able to recognise her from a different woman).
this makes me want to throw up. seriously. Not so much the father daughter thing (which is odd), but imaging him just splashin' it on his cereal.. blegh

As for the smoochie girl - boy does she love her 'Guidos' !

Then the loud laughing made kitty go "Gah!"
Although.... I do with the time on the computer would have incremented..
