The whole concept is neat, but I think I love all the colored glass most.

Never mind the a/c, I can't get over how freakishly thin his thigh seems to be. :(

sw,
*Googles* Wayside Soup Kitchen, then? I'm glad you're so greatly involved and that you actually act on your convictions.

"Exaggeration is a billion times worse than understatement."
I think I'd be willing to take that one literally. No one ever made an understatement accompanied by numerous exclamation marks.

Man, the abbreviation for "stone" throws me every time I see it! I always try to read it like "first," or in this case, "sixst."

I remember seeing one of those Flipfolds used at a store and being vaguely... well, excited to see how they got all their display shirts so neatly and perfectly folded.
That said, beyond preventing wrinkles, there's not any reason to be so exacting with one's shirts at home.

Playing off what Edward said, isn't it interesting how we get so many media scare reports, yet they rarely play up the likelihood of "trusted" people to commit various misdeeds? Instead we have a culture now where everyone fears strangers and non-friends (eg, neighbors you know but aren't close to) even though they have the least motive and opportunity for harming us. It's always "them" doing bad things, never "us."

we treat our pets better than our fellow man.
Yeah, because pets are all spoiled and worshiped and never, ever abused! No one's ever bothered to spend several times more money on curing a sick family member! Damn humans!
And I'm just sure sw doesn't have any money at all to spare on him/herself, seeing as how it's all been donated to the poor starving children in the world.
Pets are family and people can handle their money how they wish. Put up or shut up.

CREEPY.
Creepy creepy creepy. And not really practical. That has got to be a weird sensation.

how else can you explain the scrutiny?
Because a lot of people don't think McCain will actually live 'til 2012, causing Palin to step up as our President.

Texas has a sales tax that seems to be working quite well for us. Why can't they do that? Just eliminating 45% of one's budget seems a little...well, foolish and short-sighted. And as the article suggested, property tax (or something else) would just go up to compensate. Everything has to get paid for one way or another and there's only so many expenses that can be cut.

Then, if the server is horrible, there's no guilt-trip reason not to stiff them on the tip. If they're fabulous, they can still be tipped handsomely, as a tip ought to be something extra earned on top of the expected minimum.
Oh, and this? Diners generally tip the same percentage no matter the quality of the service and no matter the setting. Totally not surprising (and negates the argument that tips will steer the quality of service).
