I knew a few people who left there homes in the same state. They asked me to clean up after (I felt very awkward going into someone's home like that) and there were all these artifacts of the life they left behind like old band uniforms and unfinished projects. In an innocent viewpoint, it seems similar but not. Then again, you never knew why the children left those tree houses behind. It's all interesting.
What an awesome story. It's crazy that they told her to terminate the pregnancy for treatment. But she didn't want to give up on the babies. I wouldn't have either. It's awesome that they had another option so they could all be together.
Apathy is a virus. I lived in one of those "good ol' boy" areas for a short period of time. It claimed to be country but it was the most apathetic place I have ever witnessed. Pregnant women get attacked in places of business, children get spit on by strangers, and bestiality is common. Like some horror show.
I spent one week moving in and the rest of my time high tailing it out of there. It was a complete black hole. You'd think smaller communities would band together. They did, because every time I tried to do something "good" or "productive" about it they went through great lengths to either shut me up or threaten my family even AND they weren't part of the crimes! Unbelievable! I guess they lived by fear and abusive coercion.
I quickly moved to a snooty community with those crazy home owner's associations and it was just as cold. But at least it wasn't as "children of the corn" as the other place they just ignore you.
I like holidays but I have some bad mojo or something. Those romantic things never pan out. I did the pottery thing, cabaret concert, nice dinner, evening in St. Augustine and something crazy always happened. Now we just do the big stuff around the holidays instead of on it, make dinner at home, and spend time together.
I assume the firefighters are trained for situations like that? Babies are so resilient and squishy (handling them is still a gentle process of course). But I would worry about those tiny lungs in the smoke.
That's not to say seeing those things don't freak me out. I was crying harder than my daughter was the first time she bumped her head, LOL!
Hey! It's like living in a suburban "home owner's assosiation"! "We're touted as a neighborhood with no visible trash cans" I guess I have to put them in the living room now. Ha ha! You can only paint your house a certain color, all fences have to be white, your grass must be green and cut.
