The Best Wrong Number Text Message Ever

It was another rough day for Stormy Roce Bruce, and then she noticed that she received a text message from an unknown number. It was something that she was not expecting, but it was something that she badly needed. In fact, she considered it the “best wrong number text ever”.

Someone had texted her number by accident, and the text they sent her was a picture of their dog, Lyla, hanging out in a dryer.
“I was thoroughly excited,” Bruce told The Dodo. “It’s not every day you get such a beautiful wrong text.”

Very wholesome.

How To Walk Your Dog Amidst The Coronavirus Outbreak

Thanks to the spread of the coronavirus, many places in various countries have now been locked down, and people from these places are discouraged, if not prohibited, from going outside their homes. With this in mind, how can our dogs, then, have their daily walks, which is essential to them? This man has an answer to that.

One man in Cyprus, though, has figured out a pretty ingenious way to ensure his fluffy four-legged friend still gets plenty of exercise and hit the town — by having his drone do all the “walking” for him.
By attaching his dog’s leash to the drone, Vakis Demetriou can still take his dog out remotely while practicing social distancing.

Creative!

Here’s How You Can Play Dungeons & Dragons Online

If you’re curious about Dungeons & Dragons, but don’t have the nerve to actually sit on a table and play, technology is here to help! You can now play the game online, thanks to the rise of streaming technology, and more people to reach out on the Internet! Nerdist shares some tips and tricks on how one can play Dungeons & Dragons online:

While most Dungeon Masters have a preference of where they like to run their games, at the least you should be ready to have a good set of headphones with a microphone, along with accounts set up on Discord or Skype. Many games can run with just headphones and a Discord server with audio and/or video. (You simply have to have your dice and filled-in character sheet at the ready.)
Games are also run online through Roll20, a browser-based virtual tabletop that does everything from roll the dice and track whose turn it is in combat.

Wine Glass Chairs

Marta del Valle, an interior designer based in Madrid, designed a chair series that she calls The Merlot. Each chair looks like a huge glass of red wine with an open side in which you can immerse yourself. The chairs are made of stainless steel and thermoplastic polycarbonate. Yanko Design describes them:

A product of wanting to have fun while designing, Del Valle herself admits that the Merlot chairs aren’t ideal for tedious and work-oriented actions such as studying, working or consuming long meals. But for all you fun-loving design enthusiasts, and not to mention wine lovers out there such a piece would only liven up any space it is placed in. So if you’re in the mood to “Take a seat, have a sip”, well then the Merlot may just be the next quirky piece of furniture you need in your home!

Check Your Basement for Hidden Treasure

You've no doubt heard that hospital workers are facing a critical shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), including face masks to guard against coronavirus infection. Some volunteers are sewing or 3D printing masks to be used by health care professionals.

But the standard mask to protect workers from infected droplets is the N-95 mask, which is often used in construction. Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity donated their supply of 7,500 N-95 masks to local hospitals in Minneapolis/St. Paul. If you've done any construction, or even a remodeling or painting project at your home, you may also have some N-95 respirator masks in the leftover supplies.

A thread at reddit showed how finding extra N-95 masks can be a treasure for hospitals. It inspired others to look around for household N-95 masks, and numerous health care workers relayed their gratitude. Even expired masks can help.

Call your local hospital to see if they need any gear you may have. PPE Link is a website trying to coordinate donations of masks and other protective gear. Read more about the project here. Another resource is #findthemasks. Every little bit helps.

This Man Proposed In An Iceland Store

When their planned trip to Iceland was cancelled due to the pandemic, Robert Ormsby decided to continue with his plans of proposing to his girlfriend. The nurse proposed in an Iceland store (a store with the same name as the country) instead. His action surprised his girlfriend, Patsy Murdoch. Murdoch said “yes”, but she was embarrassed at first, as BBC detailed:

A photo of the proposal has gone viral and the couple said they were happy to spread some joy at this tough time.
"It's nice to know you can cheer somebody up by doing something that was just a humorous thing to make up for what we were going to miss," said Mr Ormsby, a charge nurse at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
The couple, both 58, was on their way to dinner when he nipped into Iceland under the pretence of picking something up.
"I was actually looking for an empty aisle," he said.
As he dropped on one knee, his partner "looked embarrassed at first," but quickly said "yes" and he "popped the ring on her finger," he said.

The “Cameos” are then delivered via text or email. The celebrity can set a price, from $5 to $2,500, as Marker details:

Cameo customers have purchased more than 560,000 videos from some 20,000 celebs and counting, including ’80s star Steve Guttenberg and sports legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. And now, when the masses find themselves in quarantined isolation—looking for levity, distractions, and any semblance of the human touch—sending each other personalized videograms from the semi-famous has never seemed like a more pitch-perfect offering.

Use This Hyperrealistic Food Model To Shut Your Coworkers Up

Nissin created a plastic rice model to get your coworkers to shut up. The item, Onigiri, is supposed to be placed on your desk or lunchroom table. The item can prevent coworkers from commenting on your meal, or asking personal questions about how you should eat more. Nissin wants to help you avoid all the unnecessary “you should eat more” questions with the Onigiri, as SoraNews24 detailed:

Nissin calls the item the Onigiri, but rather than writing it in Japanese as おんぎり, with お signifying respect to the rice, it’s instead written as 置にぎり. 置 means “put” or “place,” and you’re supposed to put the model on your desk or lunchroom table to prevent coworkers from commenting on how much you are, or rather aren’t, eating by making your meal look bigger than it actually is, sparing you from comments and personal questions like:
● “Is that all you’re eating for lunch?”
● “Are you doing a low-carb diet or something?”
● “You should eat more!”

People Are Bringing Back Holiday Decor To Spread Cheer In Their Homes Amidst The Pandemic

Let’s be real, it’s not a great time for the world right now. With our current situation, Twitter users have come up with a wonderful idea to alleviate worry and nervousness around the world by suggesting that people should bring their Christmas decor back. The decorations could give some positive vibes, and so much more. Twitter user @LisaStregis shared that the Christmas lights serve as a sign of hope, as Cosmopolitan detailed:

Lisa recounts how an elderly neighbor asked a friend’s husband to turn on their Christmas lights because of the darkness in the world right now. They obliged and “there are bright dancing Christmas lights now on in their neighborhood.” She ends her post with the hashtag #CoronaKindness, a reminder for all of us to show a little extra love in these trying times.
Other Twitter users are making a similar call, asking everyone to make their own light in a time of darkness.
