It’s incredible to think that date rape is still such a prevalent thing that people are still working on scientific methods of battling against this disgusting and cowardly act, but since it’s still happening it’s a good thing there are people like the four guys in this picture figuring out scientific ways to protect women.
They're Materials Science & Engineering students from North Carolina State University who came up with a smart and easy way to detect the presence of Rohypnol, Xanax, GHB and other medications commonly referred to as date rape drugs- color changing nail polish.
Their company is called Undercover Colors, and their first creation is already becoming a big success, mainly because all women have to do to stay safe is stir their drink with the polish, which changes color in the presence of these drugs.
"The First Fashion Company Empowering Women To Prevent Sexual Assault." Now that's sure to get people's attention.

As a female, that's not the world I want to live in either, but unfortunately we do! And while I continue to advocate and work towards a world where NO ONE has to live in fear, I will advocate and cheer for anything that give ANY OF US another way to provide protection from a predator (this can be used by men as well!).
Also, this may be rather sexist, but if the pic is an indicator of who is responsible for creating the nail polish, I give a HUGE CHEER to these men (and all men of the world) who wish to help women protect themselves! Thank you for recognizing that this is a dangerous world, and thank you for helping to make it a little safer.
