As you might guess, Europe has always been big on castles- notice you can recognize the area in the screenshot above just by the dots. Zoom in to separate them. Germany has many, but in Luxembourg, you can't swing a cat without hitting a castle. The same in Japan. In the US, most are military forts. You can sort the map by date or type of landmark.
