As a ferret owner I can say that is NOT a ferret. I would go with weasel.

Ermine, Stoat and short tailed weasel are different names for the same animal. This is definitely a stoat in the winter which is white while in the summer they are brown. Definitely not a ferret. Cute nonetheless.
