If Disney Movies Were Rated R

Walt Disney knew the way to rake in the big bucks was to cater to kids with all of your products, and even though Disney flicks are kept kid friendly we remember scenes from them for the rest of our lives.

Now if Disney movies received a hard R rating instead of a soft G they'd be remembered for radically different reasons, and we would have gotten to see a little too much of the Beast.

In retrospect I think I like Disney movies just the way they are, because as this comic by Paul Westover shows when Disney characters earn a hard R they lose their charm and gain a bad reputation. Why Goofy, WHY?!!!

Overdramatic Cats Who Deserve An Oscar

(Image Link)

Dogs can be whiny, barky and growly little jerks when they want to be, and they often overreact to situations when they're anxious, but nobody acts out the overdramatic reaction like cats.

They put their whole body into freaking out, and the expression on their face when something scary is going down will never cease to crack us up.

(Image Link)

It's honestly a good thing we have cats around to warn us when something we thought was totally normal is actually crazy scary, so we can run and hide alongside our "fierce" feline family members.

Steam Reviews That Perfectly Describe Video Games

The Steam community is made up of passionate gamers who are always ready to try out a new game and tell the developers what they think of their creation, giving it a thumbs up or down and an honest review.

These reviews are then read by developers and the games are improved based upon feedback, which is often very thorough and detailed since Steam reviewers are generally quite knowledgeable about video games.

There are also plenty of funny and totally unhelpful reviews posted to Steam too, and even though they're of no help to the developers these reviews help us all stay sane by adding some much needed levity to our lives.

Sometimes these funny reviews actually manage to describe a game perfectly, capturing the feel of playing games like Rocket League, The Witness, Slime Rancher and ARK so we know what we're getting into before we buy the game.

Checking How Much Air Is In Ice Cream With A Vacuum Chamber

Have you ever wondered why a scoop of ice cream from one brand or scoopery lasts twice as long as another?

It's because of the amount of air found in each brand of ice cream, and brands sold at grocery stores are allowed to have up to 50 percent air in there, which means you're only getting half of what you pay for.

To illustrate how much air gets pumped in to each tub of ice cream The Action Lab put a tub of Kroger ice cream in a vacuum chamber so we can watch it rise to the occasion.

There's An 820-Foot-Long Fatberg Clogging An East London Sewer

Have you ever heard the term "fatberg" and wondered what it is? Well, it's not an iceberg made out of whale blubber, it's actually something far more disgusting - a huge clump of condoms, wet wipes, fat and other gross stuff people flush down the toilet that doesn't dissolve.

A fatberg nicknamed the Whitechapel Whale, which measures 820 feet long and weighs 130 metric tons, is clogging the sewers of east London and forcing sewer workers to wage war against the foul beast:

“This fatberg is up there with the biggest we’ve ever seen. It’s a total monster and taking a lot of manpower and machinery to remove as it’s set hard,” said Matt Rimmer, Thames Water’s head of waste networks, who adds that it’s “like trying to break up concrete.”

An eight-person crew is using high-powered jet hoses to break up the mass before sucking it out with tankers. That material will then be hauled to a recycling site. During an eight-to-five workday, workers will remove an average of 20 to 30 metric tons per shift.

Just like his American counterparts, who have begged citizens not to flush disposable wipes, Rimmer says it’s frustrating as these situations are “totally avoidable and caused by fat, oil, and grease being washed down sinks and wipes flushed down the loo.” Instead of sending this stuff into the city’s sewers, folks should dispose of them in the garbage.

“When it comes to preventing fatbergs, everyone has a role to play,” Rimmer says. “Yes, a lot of the fat comes from food outlets, but the wipes and sanitary items are far more likely to be from domestic properties. The sewers are not an abyss for household rubbish and our message to everyone is clear – please ‘Bin it – don’t block it’.”

Photographer Uses Big Mac Box And Flashlight To Create An Impressive Lighting Rig

Photographers often use reflectors, shades and lighting rigs to ensure their subject is lit just right, and while this equipment isn't too expensive it isn't cheap either.

Plus there's the lugging around factor, which can be a pain when you're just out on the town trying to do a casual shoot, so photographer Philippe Echaroux wondered if there was a better way while eating a Big Mac.

He then took the Big Mac box and combined it with a flashlight and a straw to create a surprisingly effective portrait lighting rig.

Philippe is famous for his celebrity portraits so he doesn't need to cheap out when it comes to camera gear, but his Big Mac rig was made to show people they don't need a filet mignon lighting kit when a hamburger box and a flashlight will do.

Meet Coco, The Adorable 6-Year-Old Instagram Star With A Flair For Fashion

Some of the Insta-famous "stars" of Instagram take themselves way too seriously yet have nothing new or special to offer, and since new selfie stars pops up daily it can be hard to find Instagrammers worth following.

But enough about those totally lame selfie shooters who clutter up Instagram, let's talk about a young lady you should be following if you like fashion- 6-year-old Coco Hamamatsu, aka coco_pinkprincess, who represents Harajuku in both style and attitude.

Coco and her family were forced to move to Harajuku after the 2011 Fukushima earthquake, where her parents opened up a boutique and introduced Coco to a love of fashion at an early age.

How To Make A Drawing Float On Water

Rendering realistic looking water in a painting or illustration is a very difficult task, since the translucency of water is hard to replicate, but can you imagine how impossible it would be to actually draw on water?

Without the use of foam or a similar substance floating on the surface ink or paint or any other medium simply dissolves in the water, but dry erase marker ink actually floats on the surface and retains its shape remarkably well.

This video from The Action Lab shows you how it's done, and watching doodles float is really fun!

KFC Now Trains Their New Employees With A Bizarre VR Game

It might seem like the people creating the advertising for KFC have lost their minds, but they're actually using well-crafted madness to create one of the most memorable ad campaigns of all time.

But the branding doesn't stop with the customers, because new employees are also treated to some fun with the Colonel when they play a bizarre VR training game that teaches them how to make fried chicken the hard way.

I kinda want to put in an application at KFC now just so I can play this strange and stupid game!

Massive Movie Franchises (And How To Actually Watch Them)

It can be hard for people to admit to their movie loving friends that they've never seen any of the movies in classic franchises like A Nightmare On Elm Street or Planet of the Apes because they think their friends will make fun.

So rather than dealing with any ribbing they skip these movie franchises altogether, which is a shame since these films are really fun to watch and referenced in pop culture so often it's crazy.

But what your flick lovin' friends don't know won't hurt them, so consult this guide to 6 Massive Movie Franchises (And How To Actually Watch Them) by Cracked's Daniel Dockery and see what all the fuss is about.

(Image Link)

For A Nightmare On Elm Street Daniel rightly suggests watching Freddy's Nightmares Episode 1 to get Freddy's backstory, then watching the first Nightmare film followed by the third film Dream Warriors.

As for Planet Of The Apes Daniel says the first installment is the only required viewing, but I love all the films and feel like Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes is eerily relevant again with all the madness in the world today.

Why You Should Always Put A Quarter In A Cup Of Ice Before A Hurricane

Have you seen this picture of a mug full of ice with a quarter on top going around the internet? It has been going around a lot lately due to the hurricane situation in Texas and Florida because it's a visual depiction of a life hack that is truly a life saver.

So here's the trick- if you're going to be away from your house for an extended period of time, by choice or otherwise, you should freeze a mug full of water then set a quarter on top of the ice and put the mug back in your freezer.

If you come home and the quarter is still on top then your power stayed on and the food in your freezer should be fine, but if the quarter is anywhere else but on top of the ice then the power went out while you were away and the food in your freezer might be spoiled.
