20 Things That Happened on the Internet in 2014

They've done it every year since 2010, and the 2014 edition is here! Artist Andrew Rae created this poster for SYZYGY illustrating twenty things that happened on the internet in 2014. How many can you recognize?

20Things is cooked up by SYZYGY Group, the mother ship for agencies SYZYGY, unique, Hi-ReS! and Ars Thanea. 20Things is not client related or sponsored by anyone, we do it because we love the internet and the endless surprises it throws up.

Can’t figure them all out? You can open up clues here. Keep in mind they are clues, not answers. SYZYGY will reveal all the correct answers ...eventually. Here's a look at the work in progress.

"What started as an internal viral challenge 5-years ago to see how far we could make a single jpeg fly online, with zero media spend, has now turned into a little phenomenon in itself,” comments Mark Ellis, Managing Director at SYZYGY UK. “We have lots of fun every year with 20Things and people really roll their sleeves up and get stuck into the clues. This year's artwork points firmly to the rise of the digital 'self'. Let's see if we can beat last year's four million audience.”

SYZYGY is giving away signed 20Things limited edition prints every day on Twitter. To enter, just tweet this link with the hashtag #20Things and you’ll be in the drawing. You can also email your guesses to 20things@syzygy.co.uk as soon as possible. Let's have a closer look at these 20 things.

Once again, if you want to win a limited edition print, just tweet this link with the hashtag #20Things and you’ll be in the drawing. You can also email your guesses to 20things@syzygy.co.uk as soon as possible.
