GTFO Winners!

At long last! The votes have been tallied and checked for shenanigans, and we’re happy to present you with the results:

Coming in at 5th place, with 6% of the vote, Sword Juggler Guy.

Taking 4th place, with 12% of the vote, Mr. Don’t-Try-This-At-Home, Lightbulb Chewing Guy!

Right ahead of him, with 12.5% of the vote, Amadeus himself, Backwards Piano Playing Guy! in 3rd place.

One of our personal favorites took 2nd place, Star Wars Theme/UniPiper Guy with 28.5% of the vote. And for all you who didn’t turn in a video after our kilt-wearing piper set the bar so high in the first week of the contest, it seems there’s a lesson to be learned from Ms. Arm Rotating Girl, who was one of the last to submit and wound up with more than 30% of the vote and FIRST PLACE! Congrats to all our winners!

Now, before you go jumping on our necks in the comments, don’t forget the ‘O’ in GTFO stood for “Otherwise.” That means it wasn’t JUST a talent contest. Keep that in mind for our next GTFO contest, coming next year! Meantime, winners, please drop me a line (david ‘at’ neatorama.com) and we’ll get those prizes out to you.

    And I agree with lewis82. The name of the contest is weird. I didn’t get it at all.

    :( guess it is back to trying to win something from the tokyo flash treasure hunts. :/

    I was kind of disappointed that not every submission was given it’s own post as they were submitted. Only a few were. Some (like mine) were not seen, unless you actually went to the Neatorama youtube account and looked for it under “responses”. It was not until the final where all videos were posted on the one page.

    TBH – this is not “sour grapes” or whatever. I actually voted for radio noises guy.

    Frau, yeah there were some snafus but hopefully it’ll just lend to a better contest next year. Be glad you didn’t enter from the Reddit end of things like me. There were I think 4 of us that entered from Reddit. We never got one single mention on Reddit, AT ALL. I was pleasantly surprised that Neatorama gave us all plugs here and there, at least when they listed all the entries in one place.

    Neato – I’d recommend next year having a deadline to enter your video by, then start the voting from that date. Not sure what you can really do to avoid the “popularity contest” effect that occurred this time around. I bet there’s a way though!

    @ DrewBlood – Shocking that boobs n’ glass did not win. I’m going for tinfoil eating next year!!

    @Frau PLEASE! You could not see my boobs at all..well, maybe a little side-boob. Next year I eat fire while suspended by my knees over a tank full of hungry koi (cause seriously, we’re fighting over a small piece of consumer electronics here. I have a budget to think of) while I yodel Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida. While displaying my mole shaped like a narwhal.

    @unipiper I’ve heard back from Neatorama a couple times saying they were passing my contacts on to Reddit, but not a peep from Reddit yet. I keep trying to remember it’s only been a month ;)
